All-Time NBA Franchise Rankings by bevans
Last updated on Oct 18, 2020

To celebrate the NBA's return, a purely statistical ranking of the NBA's 30 franchises from best to worst. Rankings were based on awarding points for the following achievements:

- 1 point for each 0.500 or better season.
- 4 points for each 50+ Win season.
- 5 points for reaching the Conference (or Division) Finals
- 10 points for reaching the NBA Finals
- 15 points for winning the NBA Championship
- 5 points for a player winning MVP

Points for each achievement are cumulative so a maximum score of 40 points for a season is possible (i.e. if a team wins 50+ games, goes on to win the championship, and one of its players is named MVP). Each team's point total was then divided by its number of years in the league to derive an average season score.

(All stats were current as of the March 12th suspension of the season.)

1972-73 Cubs come to life in film documentary by theFalcon
Last updated on Oct 7, 2020

MUST SEE!!! I wasn't a Cubs fan in the early '70s, but I sure knew they had a few stud ballplayers. "King of the Hill" focuses mostly on Fergie Jenkins, but you'll also see many of his teammates and opponents.

PLUSES - Fantastic photography, vintage cactus league uniforms, revealing conversations.

MINUSES - They added a completely phony after-the-fact play-by-play by Jack Brickhouse. Plus, they showed games out of order to create a fake narrative, which only works for people who know nothing about baseball.

Reds Star Binder Needs by TheToddFather21

The Misery of a Cincinnati Sports Fan by TheToddFather21
Last updated on Oct 2, 2020

The last Cincinnati Sports team to win a Championship was the 1990 Cincinnati Reds. In the 25+ years following, the Cincinnati teams have found the most heartbreaking ways to loose. Most recently the 2012 Reds meltdown against the Giants in the NLDS, the Bengals collapse against the Steelers in 2015, and the #2 seeded Cincinnati Bearcats blowing at one point a 22 point lead against Nevada in the first weekend of the 2018 NCAA tournament. In the words of Cincinnati Sports Radio personality Mo Egger, "At some point something good has to happen. I keep telling myself this. I'm starting to not believe it."

Happy Birthday by jupiterhill
Last updated on Oct 1, 2020

Originally the concept was called "The Birthday Binder" which I would have one card for each day of the year. Since I moved away from binders, I have created a collection on here and will also use this list. The only criteria is each person depicted must have their birth date listed on the card. They must be real people, but otherwise, any celebrity, athlete, politician, or whoever may be chosen for that specific date. At times I reserve the right to remove or replace the card or the person for that date. I will try to update it at the beginning of each month, and whenever I add or remove cards.

"The Bronx Zoo" - they were crazy! by theFalcon
Last updated on Sep 23, 2020

UPDATE: I think 32 cards is a good amount to call it complete and I mixed in a few non-Yankee cards for spice.

My dad came home from work one day in 1979 and gave me Sparky Lyle's book as a gift. I had not asked for it, but I guess he knew that I had lived and died with the Yankees during the '76 thru '78 seasons. Holy cow, I assume he did not know how profane and scatological this book was! However, it was also a laugh riot! Here are a few clean or cleaned-up excerpts in chronological order ... the list will be finished when I get to the 1978 World Series.

Reds Player Binder Needs by TheToddFather21

We Needed That: Moments In Sports That Went Beyond The Field by TheToddFather21
Last updated on Jul 26, 2020

I'd like to dedicate a list to the moments in sports that were special for a city or country and lifted them up or gave them hope when they needed it the most. With sports returning amid this time when the US is trying to battle through this COVID-19 crisis, hopefully sports can give us something to cheer about again soon.
