I get the crappy autographsby Jgamble - 103 cards (Last updated on Nov 15, 2022) |
71. 2019 Panini USA Baseball Stars & Stripes - USA BB Silhouettes Signatures Bats #USA-AK Spencer Torkelson
Number one pick in the number one round by the number one all-time losingest team ever. This cat doesn't even have a big-league at bat. No one knows if he will ever be worth this pick.
|
72. 2019 Stadium Club - Autographs #SCA-WA Willians Astudillo
La Tortuga! Popular guy, but not because he's the next Trout or Ohtani. He's fast though.
|
73. 2019 Topps Allen & Ginter - Baseball Framed Mini Autographs #MA-MT Mike Trout
Talk about another no-name. He hasn't even won double-digit triple crowns yet.
|
74. 2019 Topps Archives - 50th Anniversary of the Montréal Expos Autographs #MTLA-JVI Jose Vidro
6th round (155) pick by the Expos in the 1992 draft. I'd have been psyched out of my mind for this card about 20 years ago when Jose seemed like he was tracking toward relevance. Meh. I guess since I always forgot the Expos existed year after year, I'm less enthused about this 50 year idea.
|
75. 2019 Topps Archives - Fan Favorite Autographs #FFA-MM Mario Mendoza
OK. It's rare to pull ink from retail. It's even rarer to get mocked by Topps for pulling an autograph from the guy who's name literally came to be synonymous with utter incompetence in baseball history. Are you serious, Topps? Why?
|
76. 2019 Topps Gallery - Autographs Orange #24 Pete Alonso
2nd round (64) pick by the Mets in the 2016 draft. If you think scrub, I hope Pete Alonso immediately comes to mind. You know who else won Rookie of the Year? Joe Charboneau. Angel Berroa. Bob Hamelin.
|
77. 2019 Topps Gypsy Queen - Gypsy Queen Autographs #GQA-BW Bryse Wilson
Another Bryse. Can life get any worse? Seriously.
|
78. 2019 Topps Gypsy Queen - Gypsy Queen Autographs #GQA-ER Eddie Rosario
4th round (135) pick by the Twins in the 2010 draft. The Twins are pretty much irrelevant as the rest of the league goes, so it doesn't seem like he would have much caché among card collectors. He looks like he could be a strong operatic singer though.
|
79. 2019 Topps Gypsy Queen - Gypsy Queen Autographs #GQA-WA Willy Adames
Undrafted amateur Free agent signed by the Tigers in 2012. I remember as a Tiger fan watching Willy set fire to the basepaths in West Michigan thinking we finally have a baserunner. Then he was sent to TB for David Price and the Tigers won title after title after that, right? To be fair, it was a good guess, Detroit's epic 2014 ALDS flameout notwithstanding.
|
80. 2020 Bowman - Prospect Autographs Gold #PA-PC Pedro Castellanos
Signed by the Red Sox as a Free Agent in 2015. It's on a Bowman card, just one step above the Perfect Game cards in terms of speculation, so he is probably going to be no one. But hey, let me try to sell it to you for $50.

#4, Brett Cardonna. Here's some more info on him: https://twitter.com/brettcaradonna?lang=en
Steve Hammond must have been listening to a Conway Twitty record when he signed his name. Best list I've read in a while. I almost want to buy some cheap scrub autos and mail them to you, just to read your evaluations .
@switzr1 I'd take them. That would be fun. @C2Cigars That's cool for him! Glad he's teaching.
‘Auto looks like a Ross Perot self portriat’ I did literally laugh out loud, and my wife looked at me and rolled her eyes 😆
Dude, I think Eddie Rosario read your preseason comments and decided to play himself off your list. Currently leading the American League in home runs, as of May 10. And it's all because of you!!
This list made me laugh more than a few times. :D
Hahaha .. I like this list... The part I like most is the last portion of each comment where it says "Auto looks like .... " ... Some of those are funny.
Fun list. In all seriousness, I'd be interested in any of the Houston ones, if you've still got them. I can send you some more flameouts for the list if you like.
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
hey, dont throw shade at the Vanimal!
Yes, that vrooomed's autograph is absolutely terrible. Even a drunk chicken with a pen in it's claw could do a better job! Even the military wouldn't draft that asthmatic candy-[ahem]. So, no, he was never drafted. Drafty, many times.
#49 in your list reminded me of an AUTO I once pulled from one of those $5 dollar Walgreens 100-card packs of random cards that guarantees a "hit" (an AUTO) in 1 out of every 4 packs. I pulled a bumb who was a former prospect of the Angels named Chevy Clarke. His Auto looks sort of like an inverted bow and arrow. The Auto I pulled was this one from 2010 Donruss Elite Extra Edition, what a bumb: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-Donruss-Elite-2-Card-Chevez-Chevy-Clarke-Auto-Autograph-Lot/143231950253?hash=item21594a1dad:g:l84AAOSwN3lcxeiB:sc:USPSFirstClass!72205!US!-1

Your style of humor in this list makes me laugh. You got jokes, Gambler!
" Not an autograph, but I am too stupid to figure out how to remove cards from lists " lmao
I got a Trey Beamon back in the 90's. Funny stuff.
| ||
I bet buying those crappy 100 card cheap boxes from BigLots or Walgreens really helped with adding to this list!
.
| ||
This is a good list The commentary absolutely makes it great
Gotta get back to some trading today, but reading through the first 10 was a riot. Will have to come back and read through the rest...too much fun!
Some of these got a chuckle out of me.. Orlando Cabrera was an Undrafted Free Agent in 1993.. I would have loved to get that Vidro.. Instead I get some random guy who never made it anywhere in Seattle or Laz Diaz... lol |
