It's getting better, the pricing that is. From what I understand a card in excellent codition (5) should be right around the value listed, more for better quality, less for lesser quality. My general observations looking over my own collection? There's a member on here that really loves PETE ROSE (overvalued), and a member on here who really hates THURMAN MUNSON (undervalued) LOL

I thought everyone knew better than this. Beckett would purchase this site at a big discount and shut it down in a heartbeat. All of the time and effort everyone has put into this site would be for naught.

if a card is listed at $100 on a site or in a book, people will sell/ buy it for $50.. if the site/book then adjusts the price to $50, people then will be selling/buying the card for $25.. and so on and so forth.. i feel it is our duty as collectors and people that love the hobby, to uphold solid value ..especially since there are sales that reflect this value.. if you are going to report your lot of 100 cards for $5 (rendering each card in the lot almost worthless) it is someone elses job to report the 99 cent sales of the better cards in that lot before all the cards in your collection become worthless.. you know what i mean?

sticking with strickly with this site, i see no use for pricing with exception to Two things:
1. Prices should only be visible to the individual entering it for THEIR OWN accounting purposes
2. A price may be added when on the Sale List to provide a "round about" figure what the seller is asking for if a trade isn't possible..
other than that, no purpose

I agree, Pricing is bogus on here...however I do like the idea of a #1 Personal Checkbook for me only.
#2 I don't trade based on value, I trade on "I want or need the cards". Too many members are worried about getting "screwed in a trade", foolish.

I have to say I disagree on not wanting to get screwed in a trade Bob because then I'm suddenly saying my cards all have no value and I'll take whatever someone throws my way..I've had trade offers wanting very specific RC cards that weren't on the other parties want list and was offered cards that we worth pennies in return..I've got too much time and money into my cards and collection/supplies to let cards for for free..
Value in life is only what someone is willing to pay for it..I have a beautfiul house in Tucson Arizona that is worth X amount of dollars yet we've had no offers sell after 4 months on the market..So is it really worth what we think it's worth or what someone is willing to offer to us?
Big picture, our cards are worth far less than we think they are..I've been snagging lots of older, nice cards super cheap on eBay (but getting screwed on shipping)..

As Bob would say I'm just stirling the pot on this No way would I want that.
Maybe some one here has a Beckett pricing account and can take their prices and add them here. Or we can go to Sportlots and take their prices that they are willing to sell for. If that is the way we want to go.

Once again, wrong interpretation...I'm not saying I would trade a dupe Mantle RC for 10 2019 RCs. But many members add up the pennies in a trade "my cards are valued at $39.87 but yours total only $32.99, let's even up the trade or vica versa". That trade is fine with me, as long as the trade included cards I wanted or needed.

With nearly 200 trades in my past 15 months or so I can't recall a trade in which I felt i was being "swindled" or "hoodwinked". If both parties are treating each other in a fair manner the trades will speak for themselves. Also I wouldn't expect any trading member to willingly enter into a trade which could be misconstrued as unfair or uneven. As per the motto.. "do unto others..." and all should be fine.
