I just finished my first book in a really long time - reading, not writing. I created a challenge for myself called "24 In 12"; my goal is to read 24 books by December 31. Not necessarily two per month, but just 24. I thought it might be fun to share the books here, and invite anyone else who is an avid, or even casual reader, to share as well. I'm always looking for recommendations!
My first book was "Where Men Win Glory" by Jon Krakauer. An in-depth look at the life of former NFL player Pat Tillman, a unique and interesting individual even before he left the NFL to become an Army Ranger following the September 11 terrorist attacks. Ultimately losing his life to friendly fire, Tillman is a fascinating role model by all accounts, and Krakauer does a wonderful job painting a revealing picture of the man, as well as a disturbing picture of the events surrounding his death and the following military investigation. Highly recommended if you’re looking to invest some time into a wild character who is by all accounts one of the most extraordinary men I’ve ever read about.
This was my personal review on Facebook, so copied and pasted. If you're interested, you can find the book here
This thread may complete flop due to lack of interest. Don't worry, I won't keep bumping it to the top if that's the case. So. What're you reading?

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want.
I made myself a goal of reading 26 books in 2021! One every two weeks. I am on book three and it's called "The Land Where the Blues Was Born", Alan Lomax. It's about the Mississippi Delta and the 30s-50s blues recordings. Very interesting read. I finished two others already, an autobiography of a former PLO fighter, and a biography of sorts of the British mystery writer/playwright Dorothy Sayers.

My wife just gave me a beautiful card catalog! Trading may be sporadic due to organizational restructuring.
Fiction: I've started Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, Just finished #2 "The Light Fantastic". Very entertaining, funny sci-fi/fantasy. Think of Douglas Adams Hitchhiker books.
Non-Fiction: Molly O'Neill (Paul O'Neill's big sister) "Mostly True". If you love cooking and baseball this for you. Her autobiography. If you grew up in the midwest during the 60's and 70's, this will really feel familiar.
My book reading picked up quite a bit last year, and thankfully has carried over to this year too. I read five books in January, but am only on my third for February. Currently rereading "Salt: A World History" by Mark Kurlansky.
Avid reader here. I've read so many great and enjoyable books. I'm currently rereading the Hardy Boys of my childhood. I'm also working on the 100 Best Novels in English.
Any specific genres you enjoy? Sports related, Fatso: Football When Men Were Really Men by Art Donavan and Bob Drury
I've read Alive by Piers Paul Reed at least three times.
I really enjoy the gumshoe novels of Mickey Spillane, Ross Macdonald, Raymond Chandler.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.
I like this idea. I am currently reading The Bourne Identity. The book came out decades before the movie, but I just watched all the Bourne movies after putting them off for years and thought I would give the book a try. Really enjoying it so far.
