At Trammell's induction he told Whitaker that he would see him up there sometime too.

I'm mostly organizing over adding right now.

Because voters hated 80s second baseman for some reason.

I was glad to see Scott Rolen trending higher (35 last year, 53 this year)
Hope he gets in eventually
Phillies fans agree???

The voters are fickle and slow to put people in the Hall. Nine people from the 2013 ballot -- which garnered zero inductees that year -- are now in the Hall. Rolen will make it in about two years. Wagner's got a shot. I think Clemens and Bonds will get in through committees eventually. And if that happens, Sosa and McGwire and Palmeiro all have a chance. Manny will probably get in, too. ARod will be punished for a few years and then get in. As will Ortiz. And, controversy or no, I for one will be happy when all the people near the top of various all-time stat sheets are just in the Hall.
But of course the big question is: why isn't Bobby Mathews, with his 297 wins, in the Hall?

I'm with you, Mark. But as an STL fan. I think Rolen has a shot at getting in after a few more years. He played for a long time with consistent numbers each year and played in both leagues. He also has a WS ring. Those might be enough to get him in eventually.

I wonder how expansion has affected number of players elected over the decades.
If top 1% of historical players make hot, then 1% of current roster spots, not accounting for roster churn of injury replacements, is 8. We rarely too more than 3 played in a class...hmmm interesting,....

I can't find any matrix anywhere that could explain Curt Schilling not being elected. Only possibility could be some so called "writers" with a political agenda to keep him out. Perhaps some of the 3 who didn't deem Ken Griffey, Jr to be qualified or the 1 who didn't think Derek Jeter belonged. Time to revamp the system.
