I got good news Friday night as well. While at one of my work accounts, I was informed that the new, inexperienced Facility Administrator is out at the end of this month to be replaced with a new one with lots of experience. The new one was making life crazy for everyone there b/c of her desire to make an impact, but just screwing things up b/c of her lack of knowledge. She even tried to get me in trouble with my company with her false claims (it didn't work though). She took over a clinic that had been in the Top-5% of stats in the state all year and it dropped outside 10% in her first month!!! After her roundabout attack on me, I'm as thrilled as her own staff that she's going to be gone soon. I never even met the woman and she never made any kind of contact with me, not even a note on my door. Who does she think she is to come in on 12/01/19 and complain about me when I've been there most of the time since 2006? What a ... ! Good riddance and I'm sure the new FA will be happy with what I do.
At the very least, the new FA will know that she should not tick me off b/c the whole facility can get shut down by the state health department if I don't do my job at just the right time for their state inspections. Don't get me wrong though, I'd never jeopardize the health of patients or staff. I just know a few things that would make the state shut them down for a week (at minimum). If someone attacks my job and well-being, I CAN retaliate. It doesn't mean that I will and I have never done it before at this clinic. In the 13+ years that I've cleaned that building, my work has actually saved them from a shut-down twice! In 2007 and again in 2010, they failed many portions of the state inspections, but sanitation was so high that they were given a week to fix all the records and documentation errors. Both of those times were during periods of heavy transitions of staffing for the clinic. It all got fixed in time for the next inspection in both instances. They also almost got shut down during the time I wasn't there in 2015 b/c the corporate offices thought some other company would do my job for much cheaper. They went through 3 companies in 16 months before they brought me back. When I first started at that clinic in 2006, the company that sub-contracted it to us told me that no company had lasted more than a year there. I was there for 8 years and 2 months before Corporate thought they could replace me for much cheaper. Even the company that Corporate went with tried to hire me to keep doing it, but they couldn't afford to pay my salary and hours from what they bid on the account (they were gone in 3 months). I'll hit a new 4 straight years at that clinic in late March. I'll also get to 2 years at a newer clinic in June. The contracted company for both accounts secretly inspected both of my dialysis clinics back in the summer or fall and didn't even let me know that they HAD been there! When they inspect a clinic, they usually leave a checklist telling you what was done well and what needs work. I got none at either of my clinics, so I just thought they hadn't inspected mine yet. My brother works for the same company and got a list in the Spring (he has a clinic in a different county). When I talked to my boss at the annual Christmas Dinner in front of all other employees, he informed me that my clinics had been inspected. I said "They must have been good b/c I didn't get an improvement list.". He only said "They were good.". He should have said they were GREAT b/c that company never gives a 5 of 5 rating for everything and has always left a list of anything that can be improved upon (in my 13 years of experience with them). Honestly, I'd rather have notes for improvement or a note telling me to keep doing what I'm doing. The lack of any of that kinda bugged me. But then I got a list with my paycheck on Thursday telling me EXACTLY what I'm supposed to do there (everyone in the company who works under that sub-contract got one too). Nothing new to me, so I was already doing all those things correctly. The list was sent out b/c we lost our farthest location b/c the job wasn't being done right and the new FA there was not happy. We never should have had that account anyway b/c it is far outside our region and the boss (and even his sons) can never take the time to make the trip to inspect it. This is getting really long, so I'll stop now. If anyone forgot what my good news was from the start of this thread...
The woman that's been a pain in my rear for the past few weeks (during the already most-stressful time of the year) is gone at the end of this month. And she's being replaced by a woman who knows what she is doing!
