Hi everyone! Hoping to not start controversey, I just wanted to see what I am holding. I am working through 1990 Topps and some of the crazy borders. I noticed two cards with coloring differences and didn't know if they were just printing errors or if they would qualify as variants. I attached pictures. In the Roger Craig card, I touched the two corners in question. One corner is plainly colored white, the other a light blue. I also attached the Danny Cox and the two touching corners show one as a dark olive green and the other as a brighter green. Everything else on the two cards appears to be the same. So, what are these? Any help is appreciative. Thanks!

The Danny Cox card looks like the one with the bottom card got more green ink printed on it the top right green corner of it and the rest of the top of that card is darker and more green than the other copy.
Are all four cards the regular isse? We aren't looking at any Tiffany copies? Tiffany editions have glossy finish on front and are a different card stock making the background color on the backs white.

A shame, looks like collectors are afraid to ask questions, fearing an uprising. Shouldn't be !

Is it possible we're looking at Topps vs O-Pee-Chee here? For some reason in 1990 the O-Pee-Chee issue has the Topps logo on the front. You can't tell the difference unless you look at the back. Just a guess. If it isn't that then I would assume this is just another one of those wacky inking situations.

Definitley not Tiffany, they have the same look at feel. As for the O-Pee-Chee,nothing on these cards inidicates they are OPC on either the front or the back and I never had any OPC and didn't collect them, so most likely that isn't it either.

What is useful on these types of queries are card #s if you do not wish to scan the back. For anyone to dig out theirs to see if they have similar differences in inking, it would help a lot.

My apologies. Danny Cox is 184 and Sparky is 351.

I have dug out from my traders both cards. Of the #184 Danny Cox, I have 9 for trade. I can distinctly see 4 shades - lighter olive and darker olive green, and lighter brighter green and a darker green. In all of the cards, there is a noticeable difference in green when you put them all together. As for the #351 Roger Craig card, I only have 3 for trade. The three cards all have different shades from extremely pale blue to a light blue. On these 3, the opposite corner on one of them is a brighter blue than the other 2 which almost have a blue-purple color.
I checked a few other card # of which I have several for trade. The green border cards are the ones that show most often different shades, as you described, olive green to bright and dark green. The red border also has issues.
So all this to say, in 1990 Topps inking issues were less than consistent. But for VAR collectors, if you wish some of these "VAR", I will sell each of them $50 / card.

I checked my OPC and Topps cards and found darker/lighter but while my Glenn Davis OPC was a lighter shade, my Ken Caminiti Topps was lighter in shade.

Thanks guys! Looks like I can just pick one for my set and add the other to my dupes and move it to my dupes box. I kind of suspected the Cox was more inking, the Sparky through me for more of a loop since it was white.
As always, appreciate the insight!!!!
