Just wondering, what would happen if someone printed the photo and scanned that?

I won't answer you and rile up the crowd again, but I'll tell you I have a big smile on my face right now as I read your question.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Is it a scan of the actual card?
No.
Therefore against site guidelines.

I've learned over the last year to respect the rules and policies of the site. There is apparantly 1 judge and jury regarding any issues regarding the site. You would have to make a mightly strong case to get any rule or policy changed. Believe me, I've tried to institute changes on all levels to "mostly" no avail. The "Exception" is the only dubious change that might be considered, and that comes directly from the top. Not really fair, but the boss is the boss.
Are there areas of TCDB that need change? Absolutely ! Read the forums and it's easy to figure out the "rile up" areas. I've decided to take a backseat and let others start the fire, I may fuel it a bit, lol, but surely not going to put myself on that "Bad Boy List".

I kind of like the site the way it is. Sure there are things that could be changed to suit my own very personal collecting requirements but it is not a site that just serves me (or else it would be called "Sandy and Rusty's Trading Card Database). Many times I cringe at some of the suggestions I read, suggestions that would only help the one making the suggestion.
Admin has done a great job in creating a site that we all cherish in supporting our hobby. Trust Admin on the rules he has set out. For those who think Admin's rules are too restrictive, take a few years of computer programming at your local College and then create your own program tailored to how you would like it.

There you go! Bruno has spoken. Thanx, you are a well respected TCDB member. Many of our newcomers and oldies alike can learn from you. I learned to "follow the leaders", find out what they do, ask a lot of questions and then branch off and make the site work for me, of course within the guidelines. Much better than fighting the system.

I spend as much time as anyone on TCDB, and I don't pay a dime! Yet, Admin has given me a voice and he or she listens and determines what's best for the masses. Admin does an incredible job of improving the site in various ways, and if Admin chooses to rule against my ideas, I'm okay with it because overall the way it works helps me enjoy collecting so much more than if it didn't exist.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I agree with you in terms of following the rules, not opening the flood gates up for a lot of bad photos.
I contacted admin and here's the official ruling:
The rule is in place to encourage scanning, because most people's idea of taking a picture of a card involves slapping it on their kitchen counter and taking it at a weird angle with the flash on or worse yet, holding the card in their hand and submitting it with fingers and all. What you've done looks great. You can go ahead and use it. Thanks for asking.
So I will use the photo, and will probably do the same for similar cards, I think I can increase the quality also. I will run it by admin to be safe. All regular cards I will scan, as the photo method is time consuming.

Terrible call, Switzer, you f***ing idiot. Admin would never go along with that! How dare you suggest that he might make an exception in an unusual case like this set. Hot-headed moron.
Well done, Rinny1. You have shown people what this set actually looks like, rather than a dark rectangle, so they dont have to refer to other sites for their information! I applaud your skills with a camera.
