Mine didn't happen overnight! It took a couple of decades for me to get to what is now my standard. I've stuck with this organization for about 15 years now. Before that I would change it up from time to time. Eventually I decided I liked my current way the best and have stuck with it. It's so much easier being able to know exactly where every card should be located when trying to pull them for a trade.

Yes, mine is the same as Spaz, years of changing things to improve the ease of finding cards we know we have. Put a lot of thought into how you want to organize them before you start. And then build two separate piles and records: what is sorted, logged and organized, and what still needs to bedone. Keep them far apart.

Good reason to get a man cave and start over. Believe me, we all learned the same way.

Sort of.
Im going to start with georgia bulldog cards as thats easy. Penny sleeves, some toploaded in a two row shoebox might have to use 2. Some by individual player that i have quite a few of then autos, sn then the rest by years..
Then im going to start non sports as thats easy too. I have thousands and didnt enter them on here. All in shoeboxes again.
Baseball basketball football ect going to be tougher so i will have more time to think on how. Some will go in folders.

Ok, i deleted my collection arggghhh but it had to be done.
Now started re-listing and organizing today and feel happy about it. As i go along the items i dont want are going into a box or boxes by teams or years/sets ect for my trade list which i guess i will put up last.. I did sort out my Georgia and Todd Gurley cards but not had a chance to list them yet but they are ready along with alot of my non-sports..
Dont think its going to be too bad as i did put alot into sets/sport ect so going to be easier to list and organize into boxes/folders..

I'd like to suggest that you organize the actual cards first, THEN add them here. It goes so much faster to add them here when the cards are already organized. For me, adding traders first and then adding keeps afterward saved me a ton of time. You can checkmark cards in a sets' checklist and then move them to traders all at once! Then go back and checkmark the cards you actually want to keep. SO much faster than picking each individual card and telling the site where it needs to go.

I have reorganized my card about 10x over the past 29 years. With my PC cards they are in top loaders for Rookie cards that book over 4.00 and I had my uncle make me a wooden card cases out of Pine Wood that stores those cards. My Base and insert cards that book over 10.00 are also in top loaders and in the 2nd wooden case. My game used and autos for rookies and stars and also my vintage are also in a Hope Chest my mom had when she was 16 years old. All other PC cards are in 3 ring Binds by book value and in order by year. Which my personal collection is around 20,000 single cards with some I have over 100 duplicates
My Trader cards are also in 3 ring Binders marked (for example Book 1- 1985- 1989, Book 2 1990-1994, and so on and if a year took 2 books for example 2011 book a and 2011 book b) So I know exacly where to go pull the card from for a trade. It just makes it a lot eaiser for me with almost 40,000 cards for trade. (although I just came to the site I am still learning the system and figuring out how to enter cards for tradeand once traded how to remove them) This still may take me a little time to figue out before I attempt to trade here but looks like a good bunch of folks on this site.
