Over 2 weeks ago I sent someone a trade proposal. It was tilted in their favor as far as I’m concerned. Since then I have heard nothing. I have checked the user status and they log into tcdb nearly every day. This weekend I sent a DM. Still no response. If he/she didn’t like my offer I would appreciate the simple response of “no thanks”. Right?
So I’m asking, how long do you wait for a response before withdrawing any offer?
PS: I’ve completed nearly 100 trades and the system works fine! This person is either ignoring me or is oblivious to the offer and message I’ve sent.
Thanks!
Joe

I tend to give it 2 weeks with no response or update on my proposal before hitting the withdrawal button. Although recently I realized I sent one to a person who, despite being on very often, hasn't had a trade in 2 years, and only 2 total in 2021. Sometimes you gotta take the L, but also keep a long memory too.

I have approx. 14 members that I message almost every month asking if they are willing to trade. Some are trading with other members but no replies to me. NO idea why!!!
So there is no real time line for waiting for replies. Do what you think is real for you.

I usually wait a week. I feel that is plenty of time to see and respond. I don't like my trade bait tied up any longer.

I usually do 2 weeks before I withdraw. But do what you feel is right. A response is definitely expected though. I don't even like when someone withdraws without an explanation. With an explanation I feel I can use that feedback toward other proposals I send out

Kinda depends for me, sometimes a week sometimes up to a month if I REALLY want what the other has, and I’ve looked at the profile for any trading info they leave. I do realize that each person is different in terms of their “devotion” to the hobby. Couple examples-I have an offer sitting out there now only since Sat or Sun so not a long time, but it is particularly frustrating to see that he has been on the site everyday and I’m seeing other trade partners receiving feedback from this member and much like Budler above, I wonder what’s wrong with me?? This last weekend I was putting offers together and started to create a transaction when I noticed the member has been active since ‘17 no feedback. So instead of following my gut and moving on I sent a DM which hasn’t been responded to. It’s the equivalent of flipping me the bird-but that’s me. All that said-I think the majority of folks on this thread would vouch for my communication and follow through with trades so, if you’re reading this—I love trading, send a proposal my way 😄

Sometimes it depends on what I'm trying to trade for. If it's an odd card, I might wait 3 weeks. Most of the people in this thread I have traded with. I usually wait a week and see if the person has logged in. If they haven't, I wait. If they have and have not responded, I send a message and wait a week. I go through the same process and if they have logged in, I delete the trade. I find it very annoying that people cannot or will not extend the courtesy of at least acknowledging a trade request.

I leave them out there indefinitely, although I move on in my mind. More than anything I keep them out there to remind myself not to send that person another offer, but also just to see how long they'll leave it out there. The oldest current proposal I have out there is proposal I sent back in May 2021. You'd think they'd be sick of seeing it on their Offers list and just close it out!

My job takes me away from home and the cards i have marked for trade. Sometimes i may not have internet service so it could take me a few days to respond. But i always try to respond to an offer if i am able too. I also look at it as 2 weeks no reply ok i will move on to another trade.

I will often do this as well just to see how long before I get some reaction. Longest I waited was over 6 months when I finally withdrew it.
I sent out 4 trade proposals recently, 3 to the USA and one to Canada. The Canadian was the last one I sent out yet was the first to be Accepted and is now in the mail. So I put it off to the slow mail system crossing the border. I can now see that it is on the south side of the border if you are experieincing the same thing.
In seriousness, one of the trades is larger and I am sure needs to be looked at closely by the other member. I just wish I was at least messaged that it is being considered.
