There was a major league pitcher before my lifetime that has the same first and last name as I do. He has 4 cards in the database and I've never seen any of them, much less owned one.

Not even close. I do plenty of research for ancestry/geneology, so I'd have heard of someone if they exist.
If there was a professional athlete with my surname, they would likely be a British footballer. I've only heard of one who played at the college/university level. With both my first and last name, the odds of seeing that occur would be astronomical.

With my last being Chamberlain, Wilt is one that comes to mind. Dont really collect basketball though. But i did collect Wes Chamberlain. But lost alot of my collection in one of the many moves in the late 90s. After finding this site i didnt realize how many Chamberlains there were in sports. While i do collect Wes cards and have all on my want list that im missing. Eventually i will start on others from all sports and non sports. I think altogether there are aroung 25 to 30 players, actors and models. Good thing most are commons and can be easliy traded for as long as there are matches. But that Wilt rookie will take a bit to find and acquire without the wife knowing how much would be spent to get it.

There was Harry "The Horse" Gallatin, an NBA HOFer with the Knicks and Pistons in the '40s and '50s, no relation as far as I know. I don't have any cards of him.

Harry also played a couple of seasons of minor league baseball.

There are lots of different spellings and pronunciations of my last name, so I don't bother to chase any of them. I'll certainly never collect players just because their first name is Adam though, WAY TOO MANY! In baseball, there are 9 players with the correct spelling of my last name (and oddly, 2 teams!). But none of those players has any relation to me and they all have very few cards. Just not something I feel like chasing with all the other stuff I collect that means more to me. I found 2 football players with my last name and a combined 16 cards and one hockey player with 4 cards. Surprisingly, there once was a NASCAR racing team called Shoemaker Racing and their driver was Dick Trickle (still the funniest athlete name in all of sports!). I never knew there was a team named Shoemaker Racing until today. With only 5 cards, I might actually try to hunt those down. It's just funny.

My last name is Robinson and there are hundreds, so no not really. There is actually an NFL HOFer with my first and last name of Johnny. And there is an NBA HOFer with my middle and last name of David. I have never really gravitated toward any of them though. I guess it is just because my last name is so common in sports.

Brandon,Joshua,and Kevin
i have not been able to find any of thier cards
now the guy in my avatar has my last name but didn't play baseball or any other sport. He was in politics, a general in the Calvary in the Civil War, a lumber baron, railroad tycoon, Secretary of war during the war of 1898, and ran for President on the Republican Party against William Harrison . He did all of this even though he was orphaned at age 13
