Don't forget Willie Davis. Over 60 bWAR, and he has never been voted on. They didn't even put him on the writers' ballot.
Good idea, I am thinking about it...
| ||
Carlos Delgado... Albert Belle...(or is he in the other list?)
Double post!
| ||
Thanks Ron! Delgado is a good Honarable mention. Belle will be HM on other list.
Can you please swap out the Hernandez card for him as a Met? Thanks ;)
I hear you, but I'm trying to use as many Fleer Greats as I can in this list and that's the only one he's got.
| ||
Jim Edmonds should move from Honorable Mention to the list. Tremendous combination of defense and hitting, especially power numbers for a CF.
I think you're right. Your nomination puts him over the edge. Great postseason #s too.
| ||
Davy Concepcion should be on your list. He exceeded Ozzie Smith in many categories except for the back flip.
Thanks Davespar, good comparison. I'll put him on the HM list for now.
Glad to see Dave Stieb at least making the honorable mentions list— he often gets left off. Most valuable Blue Jay and most valuable pitcher of the 1980s, as well as a perennial Cy Young snub. If Jack Morris is in the Hall, Stieb should be, too. The fact that he fell off the ballot after one year is an insult (but can at least partially be attributed to his age-40 comeback season pushing his candidacy back). Shame that he wasn't even on the list of finalists for the most recent Eras Committee that selected Fred McGriff. Why yes, I am a Dorktown fan, how could you tell? Edit: I also wonder if Kenny Lofton's case was hurt at all by the number of teams he played for.
| ||
Thanks twinswin. I think Lofton may have been hurt because he played in pretty small markets. However, his teams made the playoffs a lot. His playoff numbers overall aren't great though, may be another factor. |
