They started to use some cool photos like Clemens against the green monster among others.

As I am entering my collection into the database for this set, I am finding many more cards that have the bold Topps logo on the back than there are presently listed. As I come accross them, I advise Admin that a second entry as a VAR needs to be added. Once they do all of them, I will scan all of those I have with the bold logo.

Anyone ever pull or win a vintage card from this year? I seem to remember they had chances to win vintage cards as part of the 40th anniversary celebration. Never heard of anyone getting one though.

I pulled a 1984 Topps Julio Franco card just recently while doing a case break of the 1991 Topps. I opened an absolute ton of the stuff as a kid and never pulled one.

Do you mean a "factory set" or a regular pack box? I think someone already mentioned they didn't think there were error cards in the factory sets. At least the "bold logo" error many have been talking about. The other errors would depend on when the box was packed and when the error(s) were detected.
To me the "bold logo" VARIANT, not necessarily an "error" is equivalent to inking errors where a color is missing or faded due to an inefficient amount of ink dispenced or some other printing/inking error due to equipment failure.

I recently opened 2 wax boxes and a cello box and found bold backs mixed in with non bold backs in both the wax and cello boxes . Looking at the back of the bold cards compared to non bold it seems like the whole back is darker and easier to read not just the 40th logo . I didn't much care for this set when it came out but like it better now . Back in '91 I did pull a 1959 card out of a wax box , I don't remember which card it was . I have opened a lot of this over the years and only ever remember getting that one .
