Please be sure the INC.?INC and */** is exactly the same AND that the gap exists. From everything I saw, the gap also depended on which of the 4 varieties it was.

I never paid much attention to the gap/no gap. A couple days ago I came scross someone saying there are 6 variations, The 4 now on TCDB plus 2 with gap. The one card I have out is #38 INC. *DENOTES* (PERIOD & 2 ASTERISKS) It exists with the gap and without. Another project, maybe someone with 50,000 or so cards could reseach these gap variations.

In regard to #542 Ken Caminiti, I have another A) variety. Same as the usual A) "Inc. / * denotes", but "1988 Leaf, Inc. / Printed in USA" is double printed, but not the rest of the card.

That appears to be a common printing error of that card

1989 Donruss #245 FRickey Henderson - The checklist lists the "base" and and 2 variations. I have in hand copes of all 3 variation. So I have copies of all 4 variations a, b, c, and d. I do not know which variation has not been identified for the Henderson #245 card. But I will provide scans of all of them. I received a message to post a reply here and someone would contack me.
Also, the same type of variations "Leaf INC." and no period and 1 and 2 asteric "*Denotes Led League" variations exist for 1990 and 1991, 1992 Donruss cards as well. I can also provide scanned evidence of their existance.

The #245 not verified is with Period and 2 asterisks. I believe the 1990 only has the period variation and not the asterisks

Just for the record, double printed text is a printing glitch, and not listable here.

edk - That's quite doable since I'm only a 1000 cards down. But it will take some time, I work very sporadically between projects. AND it's summer !
My problem is I don't see what I'm looking for when referring to "gaps".?

this post from smithmel240 has links to 2 cards. Below the rectangular stats box the wording "Contract status....." is either tight to the bottom line or has a 1 line space between the line. I went through about 5K cards while watching TV and pulled out only 200 or so that have that gap, most (99%) are the INC. *DENOTES* (with period 2 asterisks) With a few INC * DENOTES (No period 1 asterisk). I just do not have the depth of cards to make much of a dent in this variety, thats why I thought of your stash of 10 times what I have.

But the question is: are there 2 cards with the same . and * combination that are different in this regard?
From the examples provided (which are two different . & * VAR), the difference is insignificant and it is one of those VAR that I personally do not believe belongs here.
