I'm sure this has been discused before but I can't seem to find any info at TCDB so I will pose the ?
I'm starting to catalog my collection of 1989 Donruss on this site (should have already done that) and noticed that there are differences on the backs of these cards with the * and without the * plus some with the period after INC and some without the period after INC. Is there a thread out there somewhere that would shed some light on this subject for me.
These variations have been addressed to the 1991 set. That is why there is a master set of 2289. Eventually 1989 Donruss will get the same treatment I believe.
will the checklist be modified for 89 Donruss at a future date to account for the (period and no period inc vs inc.) variations? or will this be way down the road?
just wanting to add my extras to my collection but will wait if checklist will be changed in near future
I had no volunteers to help get this one together. In the meantime, I saw that there was some strange phenomenon with the Alex Madrid (#604) card, and I was finally in my Phillies extras box, and pulled out my STACK of Madrids. (I opened a lot in 1989/90/91 apparently.)
Anyway, I saw this:
Top row cards have "(c) LEAF, INC" (no period)
Bottom row cards have "(c) LEAF, INC." (period)
Left column cards have "* Denotes" (one asterisk)
Right column cards have "* Denotes *" (two asterisks)
So, this means I have found exactly 1 example where there are 4 versions (card fronts were all the same). Who wants to help go through and verify the set with me? I will set up a Google Sheet and grant access to those who request it to help the verification process. I have many of these cards, but they've been scattered now. It may take a long time for me to get through them alone (especially sine I have many other things I want and need to do).

Note: I have currently stopped accepting transaction requests but I am not opposed to trading. Please see my profile for more info regarding this.
I may regret this but Dan, you can count on me. I have 13,500 pure commons and many numerous ones of the players I collect. I will also check to see if I have a FS to see how those are.

Check my Profile page to see my 2020 Goals and my Lists of sets near completion (5 cards or less) or sets getting close (less than 100 cards missing and 75% complete).
What exactly are you asking, are you looking to visually confirm every card in the set exists in all 4 variations? I will help as much as possible. I just looked and realized that my 1989 Donruss cards (maybe 1000 or so) are not sorted, so I need to knock that out anyway.
