1987 Topps Baseball Forum

Are the McGwire and Canseco 1987 Topps cards considered their rookies? I beleive its their first topps cards in pro-uniforms other than Topps traded, correct? 

McGwire rookie card is the 1985 Topps where he appears in a US olympian since that was his first appearnce in a flagship set.

Topps isn't the only company that counts. "Major Release" is the key. On TCDB, Major Release is defined as "National, pack-based or factory set release by a major card manufacturer"

For Canseco, that's 1986 - Donruss and Fleer. For McGwire, it's 1985 - Topps.
