I had a very special cat that was born on November 11th 2011. He was an F3 Savannah, a hybrid cat, extremely intelligent and graceful. Addicted to attention he would require sometimes multiple hours of attention a day. He had been not eating recently and getting thinner. I noticed him today breathing hard so I took him to the night emergency vet where they said he had fluid in his lungs and heart. A decision needed to be made, and rather then spending thousands on services that may not be ultimately successful even through the night, had him put to sleep.
He was a gentle friendly cat, and didn't mind being being held even by young children. He never lashed out in anger by claw or tooth. Shortly before passing he was able to purr for a minute for me, and still nuzzled my face as the time neared. I'm heart broken right now, but I know that literally every day of that cat's life was good. I feel so proud that I was able to do that for another being. Every memory I have of that cat is one of love and affection. I don't think I ever witnessed him with his ears down in fright. He was a "tail up" cat that had curiosity for everything.
I sponsor the Stephen Strasburg page here, and have long had a picture of him from 4 or 5 years ago posted as the side pic. In it is my cat Adelaide, licking the toothbrushes. He loved toothpaste!
Everybody treat your pets good! And let them know you care about them because they undoubtedly have great capacity for empathy and emotion, and can and do bring such enrichment to our lives.

I am so sorry for your loss. I love all animals but my cats the most. Every time I lose one, I miss them for a long time after.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

very sorry for your loss. I've had two cats myself 1st one her name was Lucky and she was a stray we brought in wandering around our house. And she died years ago and my second cat his name was manny, we end up taking care of him when a friend couldn't bring the cat with him so we took care of him for a number of years and he passed away during the early stages of the pandemic. So I completely understand what it's like to lose a pet. I think about both of them everyday and how much joy they brought into my life.
