Ya I agree it seemed to be 3 different races today. I was kinda happy to see Joey wreck, But not like that, wow that was scary, But cannot believe it was basically a 1 car wreck. But I love seeing Mcdowell have another great race and Kaz for 5th was just awesome, I was also inpressed wiht the way MTJ ran today . but by the end My nascar pools took a beating but thats life.

I put Hamlin's incident at the end of Stage 2, squarely on Wallace.....
There was no need to cut him off twice, him being a lap down....
Doesn't seem Bubba has learned anything about teamwork....
It's a wonder even more similar moves by other drivers didn't result in
a major wreck....

Yeah I was pretty surprised there wasn't more cautious
Looking at twitter, some people thought Logano should have tried to start his car again, so that's something I guess
Nice top 10 for Grala tho!

Joey stated during his interview that one of the safety bars was bent to the point it
hit him in the head....
Being thrown around like that wouldn't have helped the matter with bent metal around him....

I thought the Cup race was a fantastic one for Talladega. Only 4 cars didn't finish the race, 26 of the 40 cars finished on the lead lap and the drivers did a great job of avoiding spinning cars when something happened. There wasn't a "big one" for the first time that I can remember in all my years watching NASCAR. It was very entertaining and highly contested for the majority of the race. Yes, they did line up for quite a while in the final stage to play follow the leader. But that was just to log some laps before the insanity expected at the end of the race. You know WHY the end of the race wasn't insane? Denny couldn't win and Joey was off the track! Denny, Joey and BK are usually the catalysts for things getting crazy at the end of 'Dega races. I don't know what happened to move Kyle Busch, Bubba and Chase way back at the end of that race. Nobody on the FOX team seemed to care when they got shuffled back there. But all three ran well in the first 2 stages. Suddenly they are running 18th-24th at the end of the race.
As for Bubba and Denny, I side with Bubba on that one. Denny was trying to get a lap back the hard way and he would have done ANYTHING to stay there if he got in front of Bubba OR anyone else leading the race. It would have definitely created the "Big One" that we expect to happen at 'Dega if Denny got in front of the field! I still don't know why Denny was racing so hard Sunday. He has a 2-RACE points lead on the entire series!!! He's not going to win the race from a lap down and ended up several laps down at the end b/c of his stupid decision to race like he still had a shot to win it. Denny is just WAY too desperate all the time and that is exactly why he doesn't have a championship yet. He blew that entire race on his own with 2 pit-road speeding penalties. And then he got himself spun into the wall b/c of his desperation. He clearly has the best pit crew in NASCAR this year and he blew it at Talladega. Then he blew it again and then he wrecked after that. I really didn't like what Joey said after he got wrecked either. NOW it's a problem for him! You don't hear him whining about superspeedway racing when he wins them. But some of what he said is correct. That was a scary situation for him and that video from Bubba's car was spectacular. It showed just how scary an airborne car can be to anyone around it.
I'm glad that everyone is healthy after that race, but that wasn't the case after the ARCA race. I watched all 3 races there this past weekend and was thoroughly entertained by the races. But the wreck of Lancaster's #29 ARCA car, while seemingly tame at first, was really scary. I rarely watch ARCA races but watched that one b/c nothing better was on TV at the time and I love races at Talladega. Lancaster suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns to his arms and neck and is on a ventilator after severe smoke inhalation! He will probably not race for the rest of this year and he's a veteran of the ARCA Series. I believe he's 46 years old. His hit wasn't even that dramatic or intense, but apparently the ARCA cars don't have a fire-suppression system like the higher levels do! I bet they will in the near future, at least at superspeedways. My mother suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 75% of her body after a propane explosion back in 2001, so I know exactly how badly that hurts someone. I also know how long it takes to recover from it. I wish him a speedy recovery! But I also wonder how he got the burns in the first place. I would think the ARCA Series also has fire-retardant firesuits and headsocks and such. If they have none of those things, NASCAR should supply the teams with them or ban them from racing Daytona and Talladega. I guarantee some changes are fixing to happen in ARCA due to what happened on Saturday.

During one of the spins, Chase got off in the grass, didn't seem to do any damage, but no real way to
tell.....
Now Larson's issue should get someone if not multiple people fired......
Also, makes you wonder about the inspection procedures.....
Wouldn't be surprized if he shows up this weekend with a new Crew Chief......

Actually I kinda laughed at the spin, Cause all 3 Hendrick cars tha were still in the race were in the grass. AS for someone getting fired The crew cheif isn't getting fired but the Car chief is shaking in his boots. Jeff
