Going to New Egypt Speedway today. Support your local tracks before they aren't there anymore.

I heard about SRX a couple of months ago. Being near the heart of NASCAR, my local news covers a lot of racing info. They interviewed Evernham about it. Since I first checked the driver list, they added Waltrip and Andretti. So there could be more names coming in the next 2 months. My local news also interviewed Labonte recently, but not about that. He's been running the Modified circuit around here this year, so that's what they talked about. They also talked to other local Modified drivers about what it's like racing against him. I'm also hoping they don't air SRX on CBSSNb/c I don't get that channel anymore. Not that I ever watched it before, but it got removed from my channel package this year. At least I still have FS1 & FS2 and NBCSN (until that channel shuts down). At least the NBCSN coverage will move to USA Network so more people can watch them.

Yeah depending on what they carry over to USA, I will be able to watch it. I know a few things will move over to Peacock, which I can live with even though I only use the free version. I don't think I've had the chance to see any of the sports networks besides ESPN 1/2 and FS Midwest since at least 2014 so it whatever moves to USA will all likely be new to me.

My understanding was that just the live sports would move to USA. The only thing I really watched on NBCSN was NASCAR anyway, so you weren't missing much by not having it. Most of the other stuff on NBCSN was just like FS1 with soccer or horse racing filling the gaps between NASCAR races. FS1 also has Monster Jam though and I do watch that when I find out that it's on. Those are never live and only air months after an event. I've made sure to keep the Speed/FS1 channel for well over a decade b/c it is the best sports channel for my interests. They do have baseball games sometimes too. About the only times I watch ESPN at all is for Monday Night Football, the occassional IndyCar race on there and the X-Games. Otherwise, they are all talk or basketball. Even Sportscenter has become boring to me. I can get the info I want to know much faster these days without sitting through info I don't care to know.
I don't do any streaming services. So if it's not on the channels in my DirecTV package, I won't see it until it is or it comes out on DVD. I love Star Trek, but I'm not paying for CBS All-Access to see all the new shows they are producing. I just wait until they come out on DVD and buy the season. Pretty much the same cost, but I don't have to use my computer to watch the episodes. I'm a multi-tasker and I can't do more than one thing if I'm watching stuff on my laptop. Actually, I can if I connect my laptop to my TV and watch it on my TV, but it slows my laptop down a lot too.

I knew NASCAR wouldn't get the NXS race in Martinsville completed Friday night. I was tracking the showers and storms all day. Just as the NXS race started, storms were moving into my area. I knew the storms to my west would make it to M'ville before the race was done. I'm glad they didn't get those last 30 laps of Stage 2 completed before the rain hit. I hate seeing races ended early due to rain! They will now finish the race starting at noon on Sunday.
The Cup race tonight might be affected by rain as well. It is predicted that there will be showers or storms in the area up to the start time. But the weather is supposed to clear out shortly afterwards. So it will either be a late start for the race or they will move it to Sunday too. I'm glad I didn't have tickets for the M'ville race b/c that would get annoying to drive there, then come home and then have to drive back there whenever the race does happen. At least the track is close enough that I would come back home instead of spending time in a hotel or such, wasting my money to hang around. It should be a great race though, no matter when they get to run it. I do hope to go to the race on Halloween though. I hated missing the Fall race last year but I was glad I did when I saw how they seated everyone in attendance. Going to a race on Halloween would be awesome to do again this year. I was at the Trucks race in 2015 on Halloween and the Cup race the next year on Halloween. A 3rd Halloween race for my 5th time at the track would be an interesting stat!

Getting flashbacks of 2014 in Daytona. When living in the Tampa area, my now -ex and I lived with my uncle for a bit and he's a huge Kyle Busch fan. For X-mas we got him tickets to the 500 and he went with the -ex. They got to see the start of the race, but once it went into the long rain-delay they said screw it and left. Something about work the next day... So we turned around and got tickets for the 400 in July. We made a week of it spending time in a hotel right on the water, watch Tropical Storm Arthur pass by and generally not doing much of anything. Day of the 400, rain, nothing but rain.... We got there, they did driver intros and everything, but it just kicked right back in again. race got pushed to Monday. This thing called work got in the way again.... Maybe someday they'll race in the rain like F1. At least NASCAR has a roof over their heads....
