Well, Daytona Day turned into Daytona Night/tomorrow for some. Aside from the wild finish, I thought the race was somewhat boring, but am happy we got a first time winner, and one who's been around for a while. I hope it will catapult his career a bit more, and take some of the focus away from the same ones they talk about every week.
Too bad he had to get the W because of a last lap crash

Ya I found it got boring for a while as well. I think they decided to run single file to get it over faster. I am so Happy for Micheal, Met him last year down there and he is a genuine guy. Its nice to see the leaders take each other out so he could get the win. I am in a couple of NASCAR pools and didn't have a good race. But overall I think it was great start to season. On to the next one
I was thrilled to actually watch the race! My power was out when it started and I was listening on a battery-powered pocket radio. But I was stuck in one spot of the house for the best reception. At least that spot was right between the kerosene heater and the drink cooler. But the 6-hour weather delay was perfect for me. My power came back on just over an hour before the race got re-started. McD was in the spot drivers dream about to get the win at the D500 and it actually worked for him. I'm happy for him. But I'm still PO'd at BK for being SO desperate for a 500 win that he'd wreck his own teammate and also take out my fantasy pick (Kyle Busch). Should be a fun race to watch on the road course this Sunday though. I hope I get to see it!

Cant really JUST blame Brad for that it was 50/50. Joey didn't have tp block but he chose to. don't remember 2 teamamtes that take each other out as much as these . I think the Captain is gonna need another sit down soon.

I was initially really excited to watch the race, but then the single-file racing at the plate tracks came back. The last lap was really good and basically made up for the entire race in my opinion. Really happy McDowell won because I always enjoy first time winners. As for the crash I feel like Logano threw a late block and Keselowski got a nudge from McDowell and they both got sent.

I agree 100% that the single file was boring, I think that had alot to do with the time as everyone just wanted to get it over with after the rain delay. I met Micheal last year and he is a real genuine guy so I am very happy he won. THis weekend should be a better race after watching them run the clash there last Tues.

Yeah the clash was really good, and I agree that Michael is a really good guy. At least now he isn't just known for the 2008 Texas Flip.
And the single file reminded me of Daytona and Talladega races from 2013
