To everyone on here that will be affected by Laura, he careful and safe. I'm in the path and if I remember correctly I know there's a few other active traders from Louisiana. Praying all of us make it through this safe and sound.

I grew up in Lake Charles, I hope everyone avoid major flooding. 2 slow moving storms dumping tons of rain is not good for that area.

Three years ago today Harvey stormed its way into our area west of Houston about 75 miles from the coast and it was the first and only time we've had to deal with floodwaters within our home. The blessing was that it only entered into our garage, but friends of ours weren't as fortunate. Stay safe. If you're on the coast and in its path leave for a safer place.

I'm monitoring this one, too. Looks like the path of the eye of the hurricane is going right through my daughter's neighborhood (Nederland/Port Arthur). She's got a good plan though. She's taking shelter in Sugar Land. As I've taught her throughout her life, make good decisions.

I hope all of you and your families stay safe and don't lose anything significant. Hopefully all of you in the area are thankful that Marco was way less of a storm than was originally predicted. We've already had several tropical systems threaten us here in NC this year, but they were not bad throughout most of the state.
Has anyone else noticed how FAST all the systems seem to be moving this year?! Most are moving double-digit MPH and Isaias hit 40MPH after it made landfall. From landfall in southern NC to Canada in almost exactly 24 hours is incredibly fast-moving. Those seem like ridiculous speeds to me and I've been through a lot of tropical systems. Laura is moving at 17mph now. While that does create a tremendous storm surge, the surge also gets pushed back out quicker and the total rainfall is much less b/c of the speed of the storm.
Stay safe everyone in the path!!! I'll be tracking this one just like I do all tropical storms and hurricanes.

I went thru a hurricane on an aircraft carrier around 1980 in the Atlantic Ocean. I did get sea sick. A lot of people did. Not fun.

Stay safe, know nothing of the fears you face. Thoughts here in Canada.
