This would be cool, but I doubt Carl Edwards will come back to racing. If I remember right he actually was approached to drive the #42 when Larson did "that." But he denied.

Edwards isn't coming back to racing. He's a farmer (of sorts) now. But there is a series similar to IROC coming soon. Ray Evernham and Tony Stewart have started a series called Superstar Racing Experience (SRX). It will have a 6-race season on Saturday nights with CBS as broadcaster. I know Bobby Labonte and Tony Kanaan have signed up to race. I can't remember when it's supposed to start but it was either May or June.

It has list of drivers at their website https://www.srxracing.com/ some great names from 20+ years ago but I wouldn't compare to IROC. I used to love those races cause they would have drivers from everywhere in motorsports. AS for Edwards he has a family now and made them his priority. Kudos to him for that . But he will alwayys been one of the could have beens.

What to watch this weekend though. No NASCAR or F1. Plenty of baseball to watch and soccer, excuse me football, is off the international break, just no racing.

I'm actually glad to have the break this weekend. I'll be visiting my sister and her kids on Sunday for Easter. With no race, there is no way the results can be ruined for me over the radio on the drive home. Plus, I get a break from compiling points and standings for the fantasy game I run. Everyone needs a short break occasionally. In years past, the NCAA Tourney would fill the void for this weekend, but I just don't care this year. Nothing about the tourney this year has been normal, predictable or even really entertaining. I'm hoping this year's MLB season will be much more interesting than last year. But I still don't usually start to watch MLB games or follow the standings until May. The 1st month of such a long season really means nothing in the grand scheme of the season. As for other sports, I couldn't care less about soccer. I also only follow NBA and NHL by the standings. I don't care to watch the games at all. So I'll call this weekend a nice and short break from sports events. I'll still be messing with my cards as I'm taking a short break from that right now to type this reply.

Easter has always been a Nascar off week...
Mother's Day used to be, but seems they have left that behind the last couple years....

Nice to see, I hadn't heard about that. While it would have been nice to see more current drivers in it, that's a pretty good lineup. I would like to see 2-4 more drivers added but its a start. I hope that CBS decides to air it and not CBS Sports Network, because like FS1, FS2, and NBC Sports (won't have to worry about that much longer), I don't get any of them.
As for Edwards, yeah I realize he's not coming back to full time racing, and I don't blame him for it. I just figured a racing circuit such as this that only has at most 10 races a year would be something that might interest him and gives him a balance between family and racing. But if he's happy now, who cares what I think. Heard he visited my buddy's BBQ place a few weeks ago, too bad I wasn't there at the time. Since he is local, I've always been a fan and he's always seemed very nice.
As for racing this weekend, I do wish the different racing leagues would make it so there isn't any off weeks for those that just want to watch racing. I wasn't aware F1 was off this week but still getting into watching their races (I have off and on for a few years, wasn't until last year when I watched more than half the races). That said, I'm fine with them taking holidays off. I can watch some baseball instead or if I need a fix I can put Days of Thunder on.
