So what's the verdict, UER or not. I recently resorted this set, #161 jumped out, I don't think but not sure if there are anymore "verticals".

I tend to agree that its not really un UER. I forget the set(s), but I know there are times where an entire team has a color scheme on their card...except for one guy. He's got red writing instead of blue. You'd have to finf all of those and make them UER also.
We don't know why 161 is oriented vertically. It just is.

Whoa, there are plenty of cards listed as VARs because the names are of different colors. Don't think we are questioning them, just the orientation of 161 not as a VAR or ERR but an UER. Why would 1 card's # be different?................. because it's an error that was not corrected.

Yes, let's all stay on subject. The card in question:
And every other card in the set:

I think Dan’s point was unless you were at Topps in the 70’s there’s no way to know if this was done accidentally or for a reason. If it was done for a reason it wouldn’t be an error.

This should be a UER. We don't care what the intention is, the fact is this card is "wrong" to all the others, that makes it an error.
Team color coded sets that get one guy wrong are also UERs. Just because most people doesn't care doesn't invalidate truth. It's rare. I can think of only one off the top of my head, in 94,000 NBA cards. And yes, it is labeled as UER, I labeled it. I will not say which card it is so nobody goes and makes it incorrect.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. If it was upside-down would your point of view be the same? Or is it because it's a 90 degree rotation that it's not an error? At what degree of rotation does it become an error?

Should we not be talking about how every other card in the set has Brooks Robinson's name, stats, and #160 on the back?
