Sorry, but you are implying intent, Dan.  Fact is one card number is vertical.  Fact is 659 card numbers are horizontal.  You're implying this is not an error because MAYBE that was their design decision (intent) for this one card.  Unless it was a FACT that they did it on purpose then it should be an UER.

I came for the discussion, but I stayed for the maniacal bus driver and suppression of card history.

If we make this an UER and it's not actually an error, but we didn't intend to make an error ourselves, are we still wrong?

The card image is on full display.  The orientation of the number is hardly being supressed.

OMG! I cannot believe that this has gone on with all the accusations and bus anaologies this long...It is a baseball card about 45 years old. CollectingAfterDeath gave a perfectly good explanation/theory of the origin of this many pages ago. Honestly...and as a guy who puts hours and hours into getting the information on this site as correct as possible...and somebody who has a graduate degree in history...and does not care about variations...and is interested in card designs and the evolution of card printing...LET IT GO! The argument and personal attacks etc are detremental to everyone!! Just stop! Put a comment in note2 and just let it go! This has degenerated into a petty fight I would expect on Beckett or Blowout...reasons I left those places. 

All this vigour and argumentative discourse is much bettter put forward to figuring out if the White Tiger on "The Masked Singer" is Hulk Hogan, John Cena, or Dwayne Johnson...and how any of those people could beat Chaka Khan in a singing contest.

Probably shouldn't chime in but 58 replies later.....I just can't help myself. Going back to pg1, I was just trying to find out why I couldn't edit a card in a certain set. Simple request. A few replies later I mention the card I uncovered the now infamous "V#161". What follows is just unbelievable.... UER yes/no...Bob is right [maybe the 1st time ever, lol]....insults...disrespect.....Big Dan holding on to the "intent theory".....Billy, Chuck and other well respected members, should be a UER....Lugnut's insinuations....ERR/VAR/COR card haters chime in....Hey, let's get rid of all UERs because they were not intented....and so much more. A another post even prompted a another UER question to say, please don't carry this out thru 5 pages. lol

For a member that's usually getting "whacked' here for his ERR/VAR/COR posts, I find this threaded post to be entertaining but nasty but rewarding but sad but true but funny..... BUT........? I have to thank those that rallied around my innocuous query about a UER, I find it, I don't really know?

Card collectors are certainly passionate about collecting that's for sure. 

Finally, it does go to show you how fickled this site can be. Many double standards are inherent regarding different listings. However, I have grown to respect, but not necessarily agree with everything done on TCDB, since this is by far the BEST site for collecting and trading  around. ADMIN opts to do his own thing, and that's ok, "he's" the boss. ~BOB~
