This is for the sitewide "guidance pricing". We should be explicit is stating that personal price reporting remains as it currently is.

Wake me up if this gets done and I'll look at it then.

It doesn't ever get done if there isn't meaningful, constructive discussion amongst knowledgable members. I'm certain you'd have some great insight that would benefit the process. I think the discussion so far has been fantastic.

That's the same grade %-age that I go by and I also know how to determine an approximate grade for any card. If this does get implemented into the site pricing, I'd be happy to participate. The main problem with that scale is that TCDB does not have all the grades listed as an option. They go from MT to NM (or NRMT) with no NRMT-MT. The scale below represents a 9 to a 1 on a scale of 10 with no half scales. GMT (Gem Mint) is a 10 and only applies to a graded card. MT (mint) is a 9 and P (poor) is a 1. Adding a + sign to the end of each level would add the half scales (ie. NRMT+ would be a 7.5 and EX-MT+ would be a 6.5). However, EX-MT should actually be EX-NM.

I wanted to quote Spaz, but it was already a long quote. I'll copy/paste:

Yes, exactly. Again, since this is from a publication that is 9 years old (and is not ours), it may not even be correct at this point. We will need to do our own research, analysis, and determine what works best for this site.

The reason why some members are not contributing to the conversation might be that they have absolutely no interest in having pricing on the site.
At least that is where I stand. I won't use it, and if someone insists on trading by it, I won't trade with them.
I haven't said anything previously because I understand that others have different ways they want to use this site and I can't say their preference is wrong. It is their preference.
I almost jumped into the conversation with a firm no to the idea of a Marketplace but it seemed that idea was rejected right away and I didn't have to post.

It is not so much as having no interest in a solid pricing capability on this site, it is more that there are already sufficient sources for pricing available to all of us that the effort to get this functioning with some degree of accuracy is unwarranted (IMO). I am also fo the opinion that someone who offers me a trade based on the pricing here will most likely, at best get a counter or at worst be declined outright. We have all seen price submissions based on an individual's wishes to either buy cheap or sell high a card he wants or has.
I am not against the discussion; I just think it is a dream beyond the reason for this site.

Angus, to each their own. I probably would never use it either. But we seem to have quite few people passionate enough about it, with many ideas added to this discussion, to merit a look at some sort of pricing feature reform. But, even though it's not a feature I like or would use, it's here, it's our site, and we're all in this together (I work on inaccuracy reports in the gaming card area - I don't own a single gaming card - but I do it because it benefits others). Sometimes, it's not about what we like or want to use, but what we know, what we understand, and what we can contribute. Having been in so many roles in the hobby (for so many years), I have some unique understandings of pricing and price evaluating (For example, I coded something for the card company I worked for to compile values based on prices provided to us by our retailers.) So, if you have ideas on how to improve something, feel free to add your ideas to this discussion. I agree that k-cards went beyond where we needed to go with marketplace idea, but sometimes doing something like that is needed to help put the whole thing into a better perspective.

I personally don't want this to turn into a market place site but it did give me an idea. We have a link on here that funds some of this site based on ebay sales. I don't know what data we get from ebay but that might be a good place to start with some real time data. It might save some members time in entering their own data and allow them time to research other sales.
