If I remember correctly he was the original Batman, correct? That means we are now stuck with Michael Keaton as the oldest Batman, Rest in Peace Mr West, you will be missed.

God, I loved that show. And he was a C level celebrity who knew exactly where he ranked and had tons of fun with it. Good job, Mr. West.

Will miss him both as Batman and his role as mayor on Family Guy. Always seemed down to Earth in interviews, etc. Will be missed.

A couple days ago I had an idea for this site, and after hearing the news today about Adam West, I'd like to present it. The front page has a section for birthdays, I think it would be nice to have a section for those who have recently passed. Maybe the 4-5 most recent ones. Maybe even a section for those that passed away on the current date.
I usually check wikipedia every day for people who were born and passed away on that day, and its always interesting to see the names. I might suggest it on the to do page.
R.I.P. Mr. West, you sounded like a great man, and though I don't watch Family Guy much anymore, your absence will be noticed. I just hope James Woods doesn't become mayor now.

I actually was in shock to see he was 88, but no time is a good time to go. RIP Adam West.

On TV yes. But technically he wasn't the first actor to portray Batman. Back in the 1940s they made two Batman Serials "The Batman" (1943) and "Batman and Robin" (1949). Even though the second was a "sequel" they had different Batman and Robin actors from the first one.

Depends on how you define "oldest Batman." Keaton was born in 1951 and played Batman in '89 and '92; Peter Weller was Batman in an animated film in 2012, but was born in 1947, so Keaton did it earlier while Weller is slightly older by DOB and far older by age at time of film.
