Looking for a quick chart (?) to see what folks in Canada are paying to ship to the US?
Asking mainly because I want to know for trade fairness. I've started to receive some very lopsided Canadian trades and postage rates go up quickly after a certain weight limit for packages to Canada.
Thanks!

Using the current conversion rate...which changes minimally daily:
$1.30 CAD = $0.95 USD
$1.94 CAD = $1.41 USD
$3.19 CAD = $2.32 USD
$5.57 CAD = $4.05 USD
$11.14 CAD = $8.10 USD
A better comparison is the scale used by USPS and compare it to what you'd get back in weight (all other things being equal)...
In all cases keep flat and avoid package rates.

This is copied from an American Member's profile "If you are in Canada and you want to trade, unfortunately, it would have to be an unbalanced trade in my favor depending on shipping cost." I also had another member now on my no trade list justify an extremely lopsided trade in his favour because "it would cost him more to ship". These types of people must think shipping from Canada is free. I just refuse to trade with them, not even offering a counter offer.
If you are receiving lopsided trades from Canadians justified in the same way, I suggest you decline them. Shipping costs affect us all; there are ways to minimize costs including not taking the word of the USPS clerk verbatim. Doing your own postage and shipping is the best way to reduce costs. There have been multiple threads talking about this very issue yet I still get PWE that cost the sender over $10 to mail because they listened to the USPS clerk and filled out a customs declaration.

Bill,
Do you want "PACKAGE" rates or "LETTER" mail (PWE) rates?
I would suggest using Canada Post Find A Rate for packages and Postage Stamp Rates for letter (PWE).
In my experience with many, many packages and PWEs between Canada & USA; the costs are similar. As Bruno has pointed out, the perceived cost problem is the sender not knowing what their doing.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I live in Canada and buy and sell cards. I'm told from our postal workers that the states are becoming fussy. Anything larger than a regular letter and containing anything other than paper, now must be shipped as a parcel, huge difference. Now I keep it as small as possible to keep the costs down. Usually it's penny sleaves and top loaders, some wider for more than one card. that's good enough. Anything more is overkill and really isn't necessary.

I think the States had a crackdown in the summer (mid-July - mid-August) - I had 7 PWE's sent from Canada to the US simply not arrive. They didn't get returned either. I think they were just stopped at some hub and the USPS just refused to do anything with them.

I've had six deals ranging from 8 cards to 120 cards from Canada and Norway and all arrived since August. And one in May from Canada for 67 cards and am working on a 100+ deal now with the same member.
All arrived safely and secure and as flat as can be.
I've only had one issue ever mailing internationally and that was a single card in a tad smaller envelope than normal so I suspect it was lost due to size. That was several years ago.
