My 2 cents. When it comes to listings like this, whether it's Craiglist, Facebook, eBay or any other avenue. If the pictures are blurry or they take pictures of boxes only then I tend to avoid. But that's me. The 70s, from what Ican tell, might not be the best of shape so use that for guidance. And it's a good bet that the 5K boxes are loaded with 80/90s product. So depending on your wants/needs/future movement...

Unfortunately (or fortunately maybe...) I don't have a ton of 80s cards and I don't have a ton of 90s cards. I mean, I do but I'm missing a lot. I just don't know if I want to drop that money right now. I'm currently trying not to buy and just focusing on organizing and putting sets into binders. Still though...

A penny a card (or less) is a good guide unless you know exactly what they have for sale.
As others have said, blurry photos are a turn off for me. I was looking at some local Craigslist ads for cards and 90% of the pics look like Bigfoot pictures, blurry and hard to see true condition.
The other option is to go look and see type/years of cards, condition, etc. but I don't think thats worth it given we're in a pandemic.
I've found that people on Craigslist seem to think they "know" what they're cards are worth versus FB Marketplace where I've come across people just wanting to get rid of things.

i tend to agree with this. i've bot shoeboxes of 2020 product from fb marketplace for $5 -10. but have had to "laugh" at others posting things way out of range for it's worth. i.e 1991 ken griffey jr upper deck BASE for $10? i wish i had a screenshot of some of these expert pricing!
site unseen a penny per card is my max on potential junk era cards. at the same token i'm not driving that far just to browse someone's boxes to make an offer either. but if my friend selling the shoeboxes for 5-10 is watching. i'll buy another!

There are probably 20,000+ cards. At a penny / card as some suggest, that is $200. I would take a drive to go see them at the very least. If he sold them to me for $100, I would take them sight unseen.

I think that the people who sell on Craigslist don't understand how to take a picture that would help a buyer.
