Well, someone proposed a trade wanting to put together the master set of the 1992 Donruss.  Even though I had not sorted my 13,000+ traders, somehow he must have known I had them.  So for the last 5 days, I have gone through every 1992 donruss card I have in sets, PC and traders looking to see if they have a "dot" or "no dot". Fun times.  Breaks needed at about every 100 numbers as after a while you are seeing dots every where.  But I finally finished them all this morning.  I think I am only missing 2 cards that are not supposed to have a dot. And in traders, there are a few that I only have one of a particaular VAR.  But for the most part, I have several of each VAR.  I also just countered the inividual's trade as I said I would once done.

So if anyone else is trying to put together a master set of 1992 Donruss, mine are sorted. But as I stated as one of my goals for this year, I am looking for large trades instead of PWE.  IN the long run, more economical to send one package of 300-1,000 cards then it is to send the same amount of cards 10-15 at a time in a PWE.

Congratulations? I'm with you son - I am sure that would have been mind numbing! Good task to have behind you though I am sure.

interesting,  I was just posting on another thread about inputting all the variations for 1989 donruss set.  I bet you glad to have that behind you.

I have the 1990 cards left to do, another 13,000+.  Talk about over-production.

I was certain when I started reading that you were going to say the original trade fell through after all that work. I'm glad that's not the case. I haven't entered any of my 88-91 or redone 92 donruss yet. I'm dreading the day.

That's what I was thinking, too. As I'm doing personal inventory of my collection I keep avoiding those '92s after logging my '88s incorrectly - I only find them as I'm trading them. I'm just thankful that I don't have as many as you do, Bru. Of course with your organization you'd probably finish your 13K before I can finish my 1K.

Talk about over-buying... 

In all large buys of others' collections, there are always a few hundred (or thousands) cards of most of the 1988-1993 sets.  After a while, they do accumulate.  The sets I have the most of are the 1991-1993 Upper Deck sets.  I think after Upper Deck's 1989 success, people continued to buy Upper Deck more than other companies.  Thankfully no one has come up with a VAR for all of the cards in those sets.

A couple of mariages ago sadly i had to "sacrifice" my cards which at that time i had over 100K of 1991 upper deck BB alone in order.

Losing the cartds is 1 thing but the work that went into putting them all in order grrrrrr. to put it mildly.
