I mailed off two trades today, one to NM and one the Nova Scotia. The NM one was 863 grams, a larger box and cost me $17.76 to send. The one to Nova Scotia in Canada weighed 324 grams and was just over half the size of the one headed across the border. It cost me $15.87. Ridiculous how they set their prices.

Use 9 pocket pages and brown envelopes, if it is under 500 grams, it tends to be cheaper as it will be processed as a letter instead of a package.
What bother me the most with Canada Post is you never know if it will be delivered fast or totally slow as a slug. One can mail two letters from point A to point B at the same time and they may arrive two weeks apart.

I mailed a PWE to Grand-Pré, Nova Scotia the other day. It only cost $1.20 with the stamp the nice lady at the USPS put on it. It has no tracking so I am hoping it does arrive at its' destination.

I was kind of thinking along those lines but at the same time figured that option was likely already considerd by Bruno.
On a related note I just discovered Canada Post has eliminated a couple of mid-weight envelope options on non-standard/oversize envelopes whereby there is no longer the 200-300g and 300-400g choices now after 200g the same rate applies from 200-500g (this applies to US and International only)

20 MM thickness is important. Over means it goes as a parcel. Regardless what the weight is. Under means it can go as Other Lettermail. As long as it fits within the dimensions of length/width and is under 500 grams.

It seems like everytime I do a trade with anyone in Canada it takes a LONG time. I have a trade right now that is about a month out.

Most of the time it'll approach a month coming and going. My last package up north was delayed due to an inspection.

I was under the impression that Canadian Post was delivered via horseback, much like the Pony Express back in the Old West days, only by Mounties. In their spare time. When they get around to it. It can be fun though sometimes, when the package you forgot you ordered six weeks ago finally shows up it kinda makes it feel like Christmas.

It really varies on time. I have had some within a week of mailing; others 8 weeks. As long as the other member communicates throughout, I have had no worries.

Or watch the new movie about it with Harrison Ford...
