AcunaBill is no longer accepting trades. Just looked him up.

I don't have a problem trading with new members. But if I offer a trade with one and his address comes up as Lithia Springs, Georgia. I am not going through with the trade.

His Acuna profile had a different GA city on it. The GA alerted Josh along with the story of why he wanted the cards. Sorry GA people but this POS has put you guys in a bad light.

I like to think that most of us don't mind trading with newer members; after all, everyone has to start somewhere. In addition, I don't think that anyone with honest and good intentions would have a problem with mailing first based on the common logic and reasoning displayed in this thread.
I'll even go so far as to say that mistakes happen, and can be atoned for and things can become better with time, if someone is willing to make changes and take advice - I think we all know who I'm referring to. I also, however, fully support outing bad traders/scammers as much as possible, in a calm and factual manner, in an effort to protect our membership. A bad trader thread with updated names, aliases, locations, and any other pertinent information is sounding better and better to me.
Regardless, I hope that these posts do continue to appear in the forums, because they might be the only course of action we can take to defend ourselves against those who wish to take advantage of the generous nature of people on this site.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

And then you run into the "Traveling Trader" (me). I'll get you your cards when I return home in ten days.

He wanted my Kershaw RC, four Acuna RCs, and a Trout SN/50 (which good thing I had sold but forgotten to remove it from inventory). That's gave me a chance to rethink his offer, which was tempting, he knows what he's doing. After I emailed him to tell him that I no longer had the Trout card, he said he'd be interested in any Judge RCs, or memorabilia or autos.

I feel sad that people have decided to scam people on the site.

Just wanted to add that I still have an open trade with AcunaBill and he has still been in contact with me insisting that he's sent my cards. I'm unlikely to trust him again based on what everybody has said here, but I guess I'll find out for sure in a few days whether he's actually sent my cards.
In my experience with scammers (mostly in Counter Strike and other video games like that, never on this site) I have found that they will just typically take your stuff and block you, so the fact that AcunaBill is still talking to me about this trade raises my hopes a bit. If I was trying to scam someone (I wouldn't, for the record) I wouldn't continue to contact them after they've sent me the cards.
Like I said, I'll find out soon. Just wanted to add my thoughts to the discussion.

The longer he gives you reason to believe that the cards are on the way, the longer no negative feedback is left. I am curious, has he contacted you since he has been exposed? An honest trader would have reassured you by now.

Hey all - I'm new, and I'm still in the process of updating my collection. This website is awesome - it's exactly what I've been looking for in regard to collection that has just been sitting for the past twenty years. I've already had a member begin sending some cards my way to "show me the ropes", and for that, I'm deeply grateful. Per his request, I'll send some back his way as well.
On that note, could someone explain to me how to develop a "track" record so I'm a bit more reputable rather than carry the rookie tag?
Best wishes,
biz
