I laughed even before I read mzentko's comment. Yup, I would be a rich man if the prices on here were all for real.

Hey, I just spent $8 on some 2016 Donruss football and they're worth $128. I'm quitting my job and flipping cards full time!

I'm sure you're not going to "honestly" get rich selling cards. I've been around this hobby too long. Anyway regarding TCDB prices, they are bit skewed on TCDB, up and down. I'm in the middle of a really big negotiation, seemingly based strictly on TCDB figures. I've also been offered a 50% markdown, I think it's a fair offer, even using TCDB pricing. Sound good to you....50% off?

if it's for the '90 Donruss Sammy Sosa, then, no.

As card prices can vary even day to day, even ones honestly entered, let me make a suggestion. Admind should remove any card prices older than 6 months. I would like to see every 3 months but 6 would be a start in the right direction. This way only the "latest" prices would be on the DB. And if someone wants to keep reentering $100 for Wes Chamberlain's RC, then let them waste their time twice a year.

I PM's artistim1978 months ago when I noticed that the "Highest Priced Cards in Your Collection" shot way up pretty much across the board. I don't take the prices here seriously, for all the reasons listed above, but I do enter legit prices for the cards I buy, thinking it might help someone. Anyway, he replied that all the prices he had entered were from actual sales that he saw in auctions. I let it go at that and accepted that my collection is worth much more than previously thought, on TCDB, at least....

The problem with that, and I'm only assuming here but based on the numbers given I think it's a safe assumption, is that the prices he's reporting are most likely graded cards. I deplore the very concept of card grading in the first place, but aside from that I don't think the cost of a graded Joe Montana or Roger Staubach rookie card should cause my ungraded versions of those cards to see their stated values here increase so ridiculously. I like looking at the highest priced cards in my collection feature on this site, but when people report these kind of prices it skews things unrealistically. Is it possible to at least distinguish a clear difference between graded and ungraded in terms of value?

If one fool pays too much for one card, it should not be added to the site as a price, if that was to happen for every cards and could, the site pricing would become laughable. That would push people away from the site. Need some responsible people and a program to, red flag a price that jumps up to high and they need to be taken care of.

What is that behind you!?! Oh, It's me! Looking at the cards you have, That I want. :)

Don’t get me wrong; I agree that the prices are ridiculous. I know my cards are worth about 1/4 of the prices on here on a great day. I take it all with a grain of salt. Admin has made helpful adjustments, but it’s a close to impossible problem to solve.
If one is using the prices listed here, I recommend at least clicking through to see who listed them, when, and if the card is graded. That might help some.
Better advice is to never use the prices listed here....unless you’re trying to brag. Then go crazy!
