Seeing a few people do some cool things on social media, I decided to try my hand. And I'll just say if we only did what we are good at, we'd never do anything at all. So don't judge my rudimentary skills here. I have a new found respect for woodworkers and finish work.
I found a pair of cabinets that I think were for holding a TV or maybe computer and peripherals at a local thrift store for cheap. I took some of the guts out, moved a sliding shelf from the middle to the top, and then built slots to hold 3000 count boxes (12 in total) out of wood that I measured, cut, stained, and assembled. The best part is I can just close the cabinet doors when I'm done and stuff isn't spilling all over my office. There is still some stain touch up to be done and fixing some drips. There are flaws if you look very close. But it should do what I need it for just great! What a fun project. Now I'll try and do a better job on the second cabinet.

Awesome job! It looks ready for an organize collection; now to fill it with cards!

This looks fantastic, well done! Might have to remove those latches blocking the bottom middle slot, hard to tell if there is enough room for your box. Any plans for the upper section? Is it tall enough to hold a few albums?
Again, great job and thanks for sharing. What a wonderful idea!

Looks very nice, good job!
I was also curious about the top section - especially what you plan to use the sliding shelf for.

Very cool. Great job.
One day I would like to create something similar for myself - great to get some inspiration.

Great idea and great end product. Very usable for card storage now! I think they were originally built as a computer hutch. Thrift stores have a tough time selling them and most of them won't even accept a donation of one. Fantastic job! If I had one, I would be stacking 3200 4-row Monster boxes on top of it also. Thanks for sharing this!

Those bottom latches can be cleared for a box going in and out—I had tested to be sure.

I’m thinking about using the sliding shelf to maybe stash oversized stuff or supplies like sleeves and top loaders, keeping them handy but not taking up counter space. It was a part of the original cabinet that made me think I have it, how could I use it rather than just throw it away.

Now just have your significant other paint a stadium front as one of our esteemed members has done on his repurposed cabinet.
