I am new to the site and trying to figure things out. I have thousands of cards from when I used to collect in the early 90's. Most of these are adult trading cards and star trek cards. Is there a special forum for these type of cards? I am trying to figure out how to contact members, but I haven't been able to. When I try to look at someone's want list, nothing comes up. I need help.

I am new as well but have you catalogged your cards? It seems like the matching system rewquires you to have cards for sale/trade as well as having items on your wantlist. You can then match those with other peoples lists and msg them via transaction, or you can simply msg someone by clicking on username and in top right it offers a msg option.

If you know the cards you want to trade, you can go to that card's page and find "Mentions in Collections" below the card images. When you click that link it will provide you a list of all members that have that card in their collection, on thier wantlist or trade/for sale list.
Edited to add: Also, what David said. To utilize the full functionality of the trade features on this site you have to take the time to build your want list and trade list. If you do that the site will give you the username of those members that have cards that match your lists.

Thanks, that helps. Before I spend hours and days and weeks on here building a database, I want to make sure that it is worth it. My goal is to complete my many partial sets. I have many duplicates to trade with. I also have thousands of baseball and football cards from that period (late 80's and early 90's). Unfortunately, that is when the industry became over saturated and they are probably still not worth that much.

With that stated goal, this is the place for you. Complete those sets for the price of a stamp or two. Welcome to the community!

Besides in five years there will be people on here calling 91 Freer "vintage". Load them up! There are lots of us looking for even very common cards to complete a full or team set so even though some won't move, lots will.

I'm mostly organizing over adding right now.

I've only been a part of this community for half a year, and I've found some amazing people here. I've sent out so many cards that were 'nothing' in my mind, and I've turned them into so many cards I needed to complete my sets. It's been a great community!
Welcome to the group!
P.S. I'd be interested to see what Star Trek cards you have ...

I could probably buy the already complete sets cheaper somewhere else, but I like getting my maildays.

Here's an amazing fact: that overproduction still makes it to Want Lists. Mine included.
