This all pro Jim Langer card was in the 2-3 first packs of cards I bought from the, now closed, Seth's Drugstore in Scotia, NY at age 7. I remember this card because it was pivotal in me changing my favorite NFL team from the Rams to the Dolphins about 6 months after I started liking football and originally declaring the Rams as my favorite team. (Dolphins have been my favorite team ever since that moment). My older brother and I took on an exhaustive task over the next year of completing this whole set of 1977 Topps cards after buying loads of packs of 1977 Topps (small packs 15 cents, large packs 25 cents). Finally, wearily getting the last card we needed, a John Smith card (kicker of the Pats), from this set was like getting a Willy Wonka Golden ticket that gave us the only 100% complete set of cards I ever sought after and achieved this way (pack by pack) to this day. Collecting is a different game altogether now in the advent of the internet. Great memories!
