This is the first set I remember buying and opening myself. I used to walk down to Gary Walters house which was in my neighborhood. When I was like 12 years old I would go with Gary to many card shows and I would help him get set up. I was regularly paid in packs which was cool with me because if I got cash I would have just bought packs from him anyway. Gary did most of his business through mail order and shows don't know how many hours I spent opening vending boxes and sorting them by number. Wish I would have started a few years earlier Because I was in the major junk wax era. Was a great experience for me.

This is the first set I remember collecting, I was 11. I stopped collecting in 1988 and I just started again, from 0, in Dec. 2018.

The first set I bought for my new collection is the 83 O-Pee-Chee because... well it's awesome. I need to go figure out this database wantlist thingie now.

:)

My favorite set. It has great rookie cards. I remember trying to get all the 1982 World Series Champion Cardinals.

It's a "10" of a set....Loaded with HOFer's, Tony Gywnn RC, Wade Boggs RC and Ryne Sandberg RC...The front was something very new, the Super Vets cards were cool and I loved the All Star cards...Truly a set worth putting together more than once...I should know, I have two...lol...

I was 9 years old and this was the year I opened my first pack of Topps baseball cards with the hard to chew strip of bubble gum inside. My Dad bought my younger brother and I two packs each. The start of a hobby that I continue today. Too bad we didn't know any better...to keep our cards separated we wrote our names on the back of every one we got.

This is the first year I remember collecting cards. I was 9 that summer. I was intrigued by the mix of older players -- the "Turn Back the Clock" series -- with the younger guys. I dusted off my collection recently and I am trying to complete the set. I've just started sorting, but I'm about halfway through.

Nice set. Lots of star players and Hall of Famers. The leadercards with the 2 players is a nice touch.
