Collects:

I have been a collector since 1974, when some cards were given to me by my uncle.  I was growing up an hour outside of Detroit and was just starting to get into sports.  Dad took me to a few Tiger games so I became a fan of theirs.  By geographical default, I was also a fan of the Lions, Pistons and Red Wings.  As far as card collecting, I just stuck to baseball.  I thought it was cool that the '74 Tom Seaver card was "special" in the fact that it was shown on the card in landscape mode so you could see the full range of his delivery.  Obviously, the 1974 is my favorite set.

I started buying packs in 1975. Taking my allowance and spending it mostly on cards.  I'd buy 7 packs for $1.05 at my local convenience store and open them all before I got home. Did that for a few years.  Traded with friends.  Put my first complete set together in 1977.  My favorite card to this day is the Fidrych from that set.  I put sets together for every year since then until like 1994 when I dropped off the collecting when they started putting out boxes in series. I turned to just collecting my favorite players at that point.  Fidrych had a pretty short list of individual cards so I started going after those, especially with eBay popping up as a source.

I was in Kansas City in the early 90's, so I also became a fan of the Chiefs and the Royals.  Bo Jackson was hugely popular and I started grabbing any card of his I could find. My Bo collection (baseball and football) is quite extensive.  Well over 1,300 different cards.

Right now I am interested in putting together some subsets that I like, plus if I can help my grandson out with his current collection of basketball cards I'll do that as well.  He likes all the current stars and a few hall-of-famers.  He is 12 years old and his favorite player is Wilt Chamberlain.  Why?  All because he learned that he scored 100 points in a game.  Fine with me.  I started taking him to shows and he loves going through the 10-cent boxes.

I enjoy trading more than anything else because it is what the hobby is all about to me.  If I got it and you want it, I am sure we can work out a trade in some way.

I ship PWE unless asked for alternate method.

Canadian shipments are fine, but the trade value has to be high enough to cover the postage.
