Last week I posted on "Where did you buy your first pack of cards" and pulling a 1964 Al Kaline and being the envy of the neighborhood. Now...the rest of the story. An older kid from the next neighborhood came to see it. He had an older Kaline and wanted to trade. I said no. He kept badgering me. He was older, popular and I wanted to be liked. I caved. I went home, looked at my beautiful 1964 Topps designed cards, and that ugly Al Kaline stuck out like a sore thumb. Next summer, getting a bunch of guys for a pick-up ball game,I was at that kids house and on the floor of his garage was 1964 Al Kaline. It had been stepped on, scuffed up and bent, but somehow ended up in my back pocket. Today it is in the worse condition of any of my cards, but I have it and it is MINE!
