Just for the record, in 1987, there was still only 3 major companies/sets - Donruss, Fleer, & Topps. Score entered in 1988 and Upper Deck didn't enter until 1989. Just wanted to throw that out there in case someone decided to start asking about these pre-1987 Upper Deck sets.

I had complete sets of Topps from 1970 to 1987. Almost complete sets of 1967-1969. Also complete sets of all the Donruss, Fleer and Upper Deck cards up to 1987. I also had a Cubs collection that went back to the tobacco age. (I miss these the most! Now I can't afford them.) In 1992 my son was born and I decided to put together sets for his birth year. I have been collection sporadically since. TCDB has really helped me fill in some cards by trading. Love it!

When I was younger, maybe 7 or so, I traded cards with a neighborhood friend all the time. Once, he was looking for a card of a particular player. I happened to have two - one from two different sets. I decided I liked the newer of the two cards better and ended up trading him the older one. It wasn't until years later that I learned about how certain cards had more value than others, and it dawned on me that I had traded away Rickey Henderson's rookie card...

Yes. When I first joined TCDB, I wasn't collecting Topps sets. So, I traded away the 1988 Topps #778 Keith Comstock with the white lettering.

Can't remember what I traded for it, probably some no-name Orioles player. I could look it up in the Transaction Card Finder, but I'd be horrified to know what I traded for it. Now that I'm collecting full sets, it would be nice to have that card back!!! Any of the 16 people here that have it up for trade (at the moment of this post), let me know. I'll trade you a no-name Oriole card for it. Sigh...

HAPPY COLLECTING!!!

  • Baltimore Orioles, Washington Capitals, Baltimore Ravens, and a few Baltimore Colts.
  • 1954-2024 Topps baseball sets, including updates. I'm on a mission to complete Topps sets, so no trade is too large! Here is my Topps Set Completion Status List.
  • My TCDB Completed Sets List.
  • I have 51,300+ different cards listed for trade (I don't list multiples).

Yes, and I'm hoping to trade back for the specific card.

As I have never sold or traded any of my PC.  Why would I have any regrets?

Any other cards that I have traded/sold or given a way I have made someone happy.  So why have regrets on making someone happy?   Sure!!  I may have gotten more out of them but I'm not into it for the money.   If I was out for the money I would be selling them on E-Bay not here.

I've kept every single baseball card I've gotten over the past 30 years with the exception of giving doubles to my girlfriend and brother. I'm very appreciative to still have everything because I know not everyone was able to save their childhood collections.

Traded away a 89 UD Griffey when its book value was $18.  Not my finest moment.....

I gave away all of my 1995 Fleer baseball cards.

Zero regrets.

You are correct sir! It has been a while and I was still waking up when I posted. I do recall having three binders for each year once Donruss and Fleer came out.
