Are we far from getting rid of the nicknames entirely? Maybe they will justr be Washington or Cleveland so we won't offend anyone? I miss the old ways because I'm old and insensitive.

In a way, Panini baseball is ahead of their time!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

My son and I have been calling them the Spiders for about five years...
Former Blue Jay broadcaster Jerry Howarth simply called them Cleveland for about 20 years...

I'm mostly organizing over adding right now.

Well except for the issue that Panini doesn't mark (AL) vs (NL) like previous manufacturers did. So if you don't know the players, you can't always tell the difference between the Yankees and Mets cards or White Sox and Cubs, and can only tell between Dodgers and Angels if the Angels cards happen to be red. Get a red Dodgers parallel, you can forget it. All six of those teams I end up just putting them into a box because I can't be bothered to verify the actual team.

I was reading an article about this on The Atlantic. Over half of the comments supported either the Spiders or the Rocs (without the K). There were a lot against the Spiders because of the fear/phobia people have for them. I was amused by one person's suggestion to call them The Independents. Then their nickname could be The Indies.

Whatever they decide on, just be sure it doesn't offend anyone. BTW, good luck with that.

This is where I am, what's so srong with change people. Call it evolution or whatever but "white" people are the minority now and no longer the most powerful. Change is change and its no bother to me at all. The Edmonton Football Team is changing too from Eskimos to something else. I just read an article about the american Independence movemnet back in th day and you would never guesswhat they did. Removed all the statues that showed any reference to their British history ....... OMG cancel culture in the 1700s who knew. My point is culture and the world evolves and changes no different that the earth itself. Embrace it as we are all HUMAN ..... what's the problem with change, correction, or simple redirection. Sorry probably said more than I should have like usual. Since I live on "stolen" land myelf. Can't win.
