1983 Topps Star Wars: Return of the Jedi Non-Sport Forum

I won 4 unopened packs of these cards on a local online auction.  Every pack is supposed to have 10 cards, 1 sticker and one stick of gum. I opened them this morning. Two of the packs were missing the sticker. Of the 40 possible cards, I got 7 duplicates.  So I guess the same thing happened back in the early 80s as it does now.  Fortunately, all 4 packs contained the stick of gum.

Or they were opened and repacked.

From their condition, I don't think they were. There were no signs of tampering such as the gum having been moved and therefore multiple stains, or the such.

I'm with Chuck, Bru, and maybe the process of repackaging has improved. A similar thing happened to me with 1981 Topps Football. What's the likelihood that one gets a majority of punters in two packs?

I still vote for them being sifted.
