So researching this set so as to make changes in the checklist for the VAR that are not described, I have discovered that the first 25 cards which are all SP actually have the card number as "x-SP" as in this example https://www.ebay.com/itm/232932070877. Their print run is supposed to be 92.

Therefore the # is not the same and should either be altered in the checklist or a partial parallel set for the first 25 cards should be created. As well, I believe the first 25 SP cards can also be found in the "White Border" parallel, PR10. 

No matter how we go, the numbers of the SP are wrong as they presently are.  Opinions? Partial parallel or keep them in the base set but annotate the numbers with "-SP".

P.S. I think there is a lot still to be found out about this set.

This one's a mess, that's for sure. This was the first tribute set that I seriously considered going after, mainly because of the Black Sox Scandal players, but after looking closer at it I decided against it partly because of what you mentioned and that it seemed like there was inconsistency in what was being offered by sellers. I ended up not being sure of what I'd be getting, so I ditched the idea.

Insert set. (Parallel if you want).

Different card numbers and different pictures. That's not a variation, that's an insert.

Ok, thanks Dan.  That is the way I favoured it.  I will try to get it sorted after I reconcile one more set.  Kind of need a break from that chore anyways.
