FWIW I just pulled mine out. This particular card it is red. The rest of the series is various shadings between red and orange and easily blend together. I tend to think, as I sorted through them, that it's just variations in the printing process and not a conscious color change.

And there, specific to the card in question here, is this with no mention of color variations.
