Bruno, I dropped you a message as well, but for the benefit of all -
I happened to be in the IR area as those came in. Bruno sent in two IRs - one to move the collections from the incorrect listing to the correct one, and another to delete the incorrectly listed card once collections have been moved. However, the card that was slated to be deleted already had images uploaded to it, which adds a confusiong level of complexity when it's written out like this.
When an incorrectly listed card has images, two IRs are needed: one to remove images from the incorrect card, and another to move collections and delete the listing. The IR tools that we have allow us to move collections and delete a card without an image with one submission. Remember, cards with images cannot be deleted, with or without collection info. Only cards without images can be deleted.
In this case, the two IRs that were needed should have come from the incorrect location (which they did), and should have instructed us to (1) remove the image at the incorrect location and (2) once the images were removed, to delete the incorrect card and transfer collections to [link] (which was included). Essentially, Bruno submitted (2) in two separate IRs.
So, ultimately, the correct information was submitted, just missing the one step to remove images. I post here to hopefully help others understand (or maybe remember) that cards with images cannot be deleted by anyone, even us untouchable Level 8's. We have to remove images first, and then the necessary steps can be taken. We get IRs like this more than one might expect, saying things like "I uploaded the wrong checklist, and all of these cards should be deleted", or "this set is a duplicate of this one and should be deleted" - only to find that 94% of the checklist already has images loaded, sometimes by the same person who submitted the IR. This makes the deletion more difficult, as we must submit the two IRs for each card with an image.
Thanks for sending this in Bruno; hopefully my explanation here made sense to you, and anyone else that it may benefit.
I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.
