We have an IR in on this one, and we're struggling to verify something.
Card 1 - Supposedly has "Rookie Card - 1975 Topps" on the reverse. A couple of us cannot verify this actually says 1975, and I cannot find any evidence online that a "1975" version exists.
Card 2 - The corrected card - shows "Rookie Card - 1976 Topps". Verified that this card exists elsewhere.
Card 3 - Not listed here yet - Mainly because it matters what is determined on "Card 1". This one has "Rookie Card - 1990 Topps" on the reverse. This has also been verified in other locations to exist (and this is what the IR is asking to have added).
The question becomes, should the 1975 version stay? Is that really a 5 on the back or a blurry 6?
All opinions are invited! Thanks.

Anyone else want to weigh in on this one?

Are you referring to the side text to the right of the RC? If so, that is hard for me to tell, and I can be convinced it's a 5 or a 6.

Using the magnifying glass app on my phone, it looks very much like a 5 to me.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Can someone please confirm the existence of this 1975 card? I can't find evidence of it anywhere.

I USED the editing program Billy Kingsley recomrnds and enlarged it a lot and yes it is a 5 you can see a flat top and open lower left.of the number. I posted the resized picture toi my website and have the link below for younger then 62 yo eyes to look at

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

While I agree that with the assessment that looks like a "5", I'm not convinced that enlargement serves as proof. Look at the "P"s side-by-side in the word "TOPPS". On card, those actually look the same, but in this scan there is a distinct difference. Between the scanning technology and the maximum file size cap, there is absolutely some distorition that takes place due to the image compression. That compression could very easily be making a "6" look like a "5".

The microscope app I used had less distortion, and the number looked like a definite 5 too.

Did you PM the active members who have it listed For Sale/Trade?
