1990 Donruss Baseball Forum

Quick question:

I bought a lot of packs of Donruss 1990 in Toronto when they were current. I understand the difference between the two Variations - Var A has the period after the Inc. in the copyright statement and Var B doesn't. I seem to have much more of the Var B than the Var A.

Anyone know the reason for the variations and how they affect the value of the cards? On the tcdb listings, only the Var A cards consistently have a value listed.

The plethora of variations (based on the splatter patterns on the borders and the INC/INC. differences) were very recently added. This did not allow a lot of time for people in input any prices for those variations. Generally speaking, there is no differnce in the prices on the INC vs. INC. variants. (Hence the reason all other outlets do not distinguish them.) The Factory Set splatter pattern cards could command a small increase in value simply because one would have to break a factory set as a means of obtaining them. That said, I didn't bust any factory sets, yet in my extras of the team I collect, I had 2 or 3 of the factory set versions. So any additional value to those would be minimal, and again, most outlets (if any) recognize those differences.

Some are worth a penny; others a penny and a half.  If anyone will pay me that for the 13,000+ I have of these + shipping, I will gladly send them along to their new home.

Any prices entered before the VARs were added would have defaulted to the A version after the split.  That's why those are mostly what you see.

From the 13,000 cards I sorted I saw about 20% NO period VS. 80% with period.

I hear if you carefully apply them, that many Donruss cards can give you an extra layer of protection on the roof...
