Dan, Bruno, don't get me wrong, I'm extremely grateful of the work that was done on these sets by yourselves and others I did try to help where I could. I completely get why FS was sued, as Dan pointed out. Just venting a little I guess for who knows why. I'll blame Donruss....

But to say "when I have 2 seconds..." is a "slap on the face" to those who have done this work. We had someone who went through a 1988 Factory Set to guarantee that we had the proper images here - so that people only needed to visually check their cards. I have been vigilant to ensure that only FS images have been in the FS version.
Please, take the 2 seconds to update the set. When you're done updating the set, let me know how long that 2 seconds truly was.

Dan, I know very well it'll take more than 2 seconds to make any updates to all the notes and I was in NO WAY trying to discredit anything that was done here. 2 seconds was referencing time I was I had so I could help more. Should have kept my mouth shut, you've personally seen how sloppy my last few IRs were and in no place to say much right now

As Dan has said, he would still be working on the 1988 Donruss set if he had to describe every VAR for every card. The fact that all teh sets from 1987 thru 1992 have been done in minimal time is amazing. I know when I was approached to do another set after having helped in the 1989 and the 1991 sets, I asked for a break.
But now that the sets are built with the VAR, I would strongly urge members who can edit the Notes to start describing the VAR at least on the FS. Many times it is that the last line of the bio starts differently than the parallel from the packs because of a different font being used. Though it is not an absolute must that this be done before the end of the day, over time it could be done through the contribution by other members.
I do not know for sure what level in permisions you need to edit card notes but I don't recall it being Level 8. I may be wrong.

Not a difficult level to achieve if I recall.

I completely missed that this set was also being done. Now I sit here with a 3200 count box I have not gone through, the set in my collection, plus the duplicates I have for trade and cringe at the thought of going through them after already doing the 1989 (at 93-94% complete) and 1990 (at 98% complete) sets.

The Cliff Notes version of the note2 field would be either:
VAR: Border or
VAR: Text
That will give the user a place to start (since the scans are correct they can figure it out on their own), otherwise it will take forever. I do have a bunch of other Baseball variations I would like to get entered IE: 1988 & 1990 Topps Big (Print Designations), 1990 & 1992 Fleer (with or without period (.) after Printed In USA, 1991 & 1992 Stadium Club (Sheet Designations), 1994 Collector's Choice Series 1 & 1994 SP (Hologram Variations). I do want to do it in an orderly fashion, I will give as much info as possible for each, but I cannot provide links for every single card in every set. A preponderance of evidence will be sent not proof positive for every single card and I will (and have) researched these sets (not 1988 Topps Big, yet) extensively.

For completeness, you should actually describe as many of the differences as you find (since some people will look at different things).
So there are three main points where differences may be seen (and this was mentioned in at least one of the other threads).
1 - Front border - the black corners alternate (on only some of the cards)
2 - On the back - the contract status area - the text breaks at different points or the second line may end at a different point under the line above
3 - On the back - the career highlights text - the text breaks at different points on the various lines - usually most pronounced on the last line, but not always - sometimes has to be detected by placement of last character on the last line in reference to a character on the line above.
Again, good luck to those who take this on. Please be complete about this. You'll have many eyes double-checking and second-guessing your work.

That doesn't happen here, does it?
