A true L.A. sports icon of the '60s and early '70s. I have good memories of watching the Rams at the L.A. Coliseum with my dad as Gabriel led the offense and the "Fearsome Foursome" headed up a tough defense.

I have this picture of Gabriel taking the snap, raising quickly, and tossing a slant-in. My buddy and I would mimic that move on the playground often.

OH MAN. I am so bummed. Having been born mid 1960s my two fave QBs were Roman and Sonny Jurgensen. I also liked that Roman Did some acting which includes being a headhunter in an episode of "Gillegan's Island"
