Lately, I have taken interest in old Swedish association football players, and just wanted to share what I've been doing to increase the Internet presence of these otherwise mostly forgotten people.
As some of you might have seen, I first registered here in the beginning of February, and quickly added a handful of checklists for Swedish 1930's football (that's soccer for you yankees) cards to the site. I have since started going through the players in these checklists, and connected their TCDB PID to Wikidata, which is Wikipedia's data repository. I have also added id's from other relevant football (okay, soccer!) databases to make data posts that look kinda like this.
What's the point of this? you might ask. I have absolutely no idea, but it's very satisfying for my cataloguing brain, and I can use the data that I collect to make nice little articles on my native Swedish Wikipedia. And possibly it could lead to some traffic to this site too, since my data posts on Wikidata all contain a link here via the PID. I have also made sure to add a Wikipedia link on here for all players who have a page on English Wikipedia.
If you've read all the way here, thank you. And please let me know what you think of my little project (if you feel like it of course)!
