Wow, it looks like a lot of you had "a case of the Mondays"! There were only 16 survivors just one day into the adventure. Nine people did not submit choices, but I have to stick to the rules & my schedule for those actively participating. Only 30% made the cut, even with the addition of four late comers - three of whom survived, but one did not.
Here's the conclusion & consequences of Chapter 1 - a look at both page endings - followed by the new prize standings. Thanks to everyone taking part.
If you choose to save your money for other wants, turn to page 2.
If you choose to risk entering a bidding war, turn to page 33.
Page 2:
As other buyers swooped in, the ticket once again eluded my grasp. A bit disappointed, but still in possession of all my spending money, I continued to wend my way through the labyrinth of vendors.
Later, I noticed a short line forming at a table where someone was signing & handing out cards. Not knowing who it was, I joined because the price was right – free! However, when I left the table, I still had no idea who he was but at least the card was cool. A chrome Conan the Barbarian promo depicting him locked in battle with a tiger. On the back, the mystery man had scrawled what looked like an elongated, cursive “Q”.
(WRONG) “If saving money is wrong, I don’t want to be right!” For you, and William Shatner – your adventure is over.
Page 33:
I quickly pulled a Jackson from my wallet and parroted the offer, “Twenty dollars?!” A second scalper agreed, and I finally got my ticket. The queue wasn’t too long, ascending some stairs to the autograph loft.
Manon sat at a table, actively signing special versions of her 1992 Classic Draft card in gold ink. She was flanked by security, overseeing the signing & keeping the riffraff at arm’s length. I was greeted with a smile from Manon and handed a signed card by a Classic Games rep. At the end of an escalator ride which brought me back down to the convention floor, another enterprising soul was coincidentally offering to pay $20 for the signed card. From the looks of the partially filled plastic case in his hands, he already had a dozen or more takers, but I kept mine.
(RIGHT) “Et c’est la l’histoire de Manon…”, an end to an opera, but not your story – continue with your adventure!
